She was strangled into a coma. She never regained consciousness. Apparently Packer saw the fight. I have never heard an explanation as to why he didn't or couldn't help her.

For those wondering - "V" is set to return again in March. I'm curious as to see what develops here - even though I am a bit disappointed the revamped version is more of an intergallactic showdown instead of a Nazi-esque attitude shown in the original. I liked it better when you had the characters play mental games with Julie for example and the fact they saw humans as inferior to them, only to be ousted by a bacteria in humans that was fatal to lizards ("Red Dust.") Still, it's not too bad, and I hope they do have cameos from the original cast if possible.

The "V" series will be back next Tuesday on ABC. Not really interested like I was in the first couple of episodes because it looks like it's going to be an all out war between the visitors and the rebels instead of a more intellectual type story like the original run.
That said, I'm interested in seeing if there are any of the original cast members making guest appearances in this run.
