There are three things I really love about this show's great tag scene, naturally related to Bill:
1. Did you notice that we see FBI women very interested in Bill in this episode? When he is leaving or entering Carlisle's office, at least one woman is there watching him. Of course, he is oblivious to it.
2. Culp's story-telling in the tag scene is hilarious. His high-pitched giggling is completely contagious and every time I watch that scene I find myself smiling widely.
3. The final moments with Ralph clucking and Bill being embarrassed about it, looking around the room to see if anyone noticed his friend flapping his arms. Priceless!
This is another wonderful episode all around.
It's also funny how in other episodes, the characters still say "Burger Alert" when bringing back food, like at the end of "Heaven in Genes". It's very realistic that characters in shows refer back to previous events in their lives, like we all do in "real" life.

I thought the girls were laughing at Culp's giggling.

Good catch, BW. I am not in that part of the country, but common sense should tell most people that odd numbers tend to go north to south while the even numbers go east to west. The writers must have known MelMac's sense of direction. HD, I'm older than you, but not by that much... I was 3 when that ep was made. But yes, they do have that bad of a sense of direction.

Hey, I'm a bit of a hippy in demeanor (sometimes dress), but even I don't believe that mumbo jumbo. I do like Ralph's clucking like a chicken though... it'd been neat to see him as a mascot when Mickey offered to get him a gig.

And maybe the actor that said it was really a long-lost relative of yours, Mel.

We've got a "Just for HD" thread; we've got a "Just for Melmac" thread. I think we need a "Just for HD & Mel's Bantering" thread... Or is that what the "Ya know" thread has become?

OK, just because I was a mascot in High School and College not to mention a Looney Tune (three of them) last year at Six Flags... Then again... maybe all mascots do hold a bond of some sort - the kind that are willing to wear heavy thick costumes in the summer heat for pay.

OK one thing I will say about this episode, you have to give the actors' credit for managing to say "Captain Bellybuster" over and over without breaking up, lol.

I think Chick McCann who played the Captain was fantastic in the part. Knowing something about the actor back in the 80's I thought it was cool that his character had once been a kid show host, just like McCann had years before. Inspired bit of casting I think, or just a geek moment for myself. ;D
I also love the conversation between Ralph, Bill, and the Captain while they walk across the park back to Pam's car.

A good episode----I agree that the casting of the Captain was inspired. The taxi driver's hysterical laughter when he recognizes Captain Bellybuster always cracks me up. (I guess it's true that laughter is contagious. ) From the looks of it, he laughed non-stop for the entire taxi ride!

I have to admit that the laughing got a little over the top for me, but I can see people finding the combination of both the Captian's and Ralph's outfits too much and he just gets into a fit of giggles he can't stop. I have occasionally had the situation happen to me IRL with work and the like.

You know thing that bothered me, no one on this show is ever taken seriously when they claim to have seen Ralph. Why would a tabloid suddenly become credible to the Feds? When did we turn Men in Black all of a sudden? Lol
Btw I love how Pam's trying to be all serious talking to the tabloid guy while Ralph puts his head on her shoulder and stays there for practically the whole shot, lol.
One other thing, I'm surprised Carlisle doesn't suspect that the "guy in the red tights" that Bill was seen with might be, oh I don't know, that guy with the blond hair that Bill always brings on cases for no apparent reason! Lol

What makes the whole Carlisle thing funny is that technically there are TWO Carlisles, and they're identical twins. The first one we see he's named Les, the second one who is there most of the series is named Norm. I sometimes wonder though when I see the confused reactions Carlisle has when he sees Ralph that somehow they're the same though and he changed his name in order to get a promotion.
