What does this remind you of:
1. An athletic acrobatic person in disguise commits a murder. 2. The investigators check out a local service with Eastern European workers. 3. An elephant plays a big part, and the elephant likes to crush things 4. The weapon is hidden in the human cannonball cannon 5. A clown shows up now and then 6. An innocent circus witness is also murdered.
Does it remind you of..."Just Another 3-Ring Circus?"
It did me! But, it was indeed the above Monk episode shown tonight as a rerun. I can only imagine that SOME writer on of Monk had seen the TGAH episode and was doing a bit of an homage to it, or else, almost plagiarizing it.

Indeed, there are similarities! I love both of the shows, so now they are completely melded together, forever!

It has two - to my knowledge - differences here:
1. Monk (nor anyone else) apparently doesn't get shot out of the rocket.
2. Monk solves the case differently (i.e. no suit involved).
If anything it's an homage, not uncommon in today's shows. I'm surprised "Psych" hasn't tried it yet, given their 100th was an homage to "Clue" - including several of the actors who were in the original movie.

Good eye, Mona. I haven't really paid that much attention to current shows and similarities to GAH. I might have to do so now. ;D
