I am just doing this as a place for MelMac to rant and rave over juggling. I noticed that probably a third or fourth of her posts probably revolve around juggling...some are even in polls and topic threads. I thought it would be funny to see how much she might post here if we gave her a little section to call her own.

ROTFL alot HD, I don't post that much about it (or do I?) ;D I will concede I do talk about it a lot lately because of the variety show coming up. And I'm really excited about it b/c it's the first one I've been in for nearly two years. In regard to the story thread, people needed to know why I was doing this, that or the other in January. Come to think of it, I bet when I reach 1,500, MyTatuo will, instead of "Little Green Guy," put "Greatest American Juggler" as my title because I talk so much about it.

I can see that happening. I just thought you might like a permanent juggling fixture.

OK, I'll bite, since I've been a part of the board humor for awhile, i.e. literal, silly, etc. (and I take it in good humor as well). Well, all I can say is that right now, both routines I'm juggling to in January are doing real well. "GAH" is still being tweaked since I'm getting used to juggling in canvas shoes again. I had switched to boots in recent years because they're snug and I can balance in them a little better). I'm also having to avoid kicking the bucket when I get ready for my next trick in one combo. It gets spun around enough being tossed as is. And, in this one, I start off laying on my stomach, which surprised the person whom I auditioned for because most of the time they expect you to be at least on your feet starting. In this case, I do sort of a one-handed pushup and juggle a balance with the other (two in one hand) before getting to my knees and standing up. Sounds odd, but it does work well with the music, and was the more popular of the two auditioned, which was really opposite of what I expected. Now, for costume, I plan on making a longsleeved shirt with the GAH emblem on it for the show so I'll look dressier than the outfit I'm wearing in the pic (which is what I auditioned in save different shoes). The suit as a whole is out of the question (per director), so I'm wearing the black pants and red shoes with the shirt. If all else and they change their mind about costume, I'm wearing a plain red shirt, the black pants and red shoes. Now the other routine, "In the Mood," is a Glenn Miller big band piece. I am wearing either a red or blue polo shirt, jeans, white canvas shoes (though I'll use the red ones if I go with red) and have a tie around my waist. The routine itself is a free for all one, where I do tricks in any order as see fit, so it keeps changing. That's sort of like what I did at the Country Opry I juggled at, except I won't have someone keep testing how long I can spin by playing the same bridge for 30+ seconds. ("Orange Blossom Special.") But, to be fair, HD, I don't just talk about juggling, or at least try not to. A good example is my "commercial" and soon to be individual story, I wrote in the title themes thread.

Also, if you guys want to say or ask something, feel free. Right now, I plan on using this to keep those interested updated on the routine for the show. I can try to give you pointers on how to start juggling or jewelrymaking (which I've talked quite a bit about too), if you'd like. May sound silly, but juggling is actually a good workout, whether your beginning or a pro, and definitely improves your eye/hand coordination. (You know, first it's "MelMac's Bi+ch," now this. My poor username is really part of the humor here (but I take it as such ) Hope it stays around.)

Come on, MelMac...this is YOUR thread...you need to be more active too. Great screencaps GAH Chick and HD. I roared with laughter at both. Well, for the past two days, I've been working on your new emblem HD, finishing up the first move draft for the next GAH interactive game thread, writing an individual story, and attending a party at work. (I was a busy bee, so I was lurking most of the time on the boards). Speaking of the party, I ended up juggling there. I wore a fairly dressy outit (black pants, black low cut (but modest) black top and a silver shrug), and as such, tried to politely decline the request. Unfortunately, one of my colleagues persuaded one of the waiters (we were at a family owned restauarant) to bring four potatoes for me to juggle. So, since EVERYONE pestered me (and you don't mess with the boss), I juggled and did a few tricks. They really enjoyed it, but I ended up splitting a potato when I dropped it. At least it didn't end up being a mashed potato. I told them afterward I wasn't juggling for them again until the variety show Jan. 22, and I think they'll respect that.

Better splitting a potato than your dress.

Better splitting a potato than your dress. Actually pants. I would have flat out refused if I was wearing a dress, and no amount of egging on would have gotten me to change my mind. It's the one thing I will not juggle in unless I'm forced to, such as when I did the crowd warm-up at the "TEXAS" musical drama. Only time I didn't like wearing the prairie dresses.

Well, splitting your pants would not have been any better...at least you didn't lose a potato down your shirt.

Well, splitting your pants would not have been any better...at least you didn't lose a potato down your shirt. Very funny, HD, but even if it did, it could have been worse. I've nearly gotten hit in the head with the bucket when I kicked it up into my hands, nearly walked off the stage, have spun myself dizzy once (normally don't have a problem with multiple spins), and hit my mouth with a golfball. Plus, with the exception of staged ones, I've fallen once juggling because I slipped on the clubs. Funny thing was, I didn't drop them, though I had to fight not to end up on my back.

Maybe someone should videotape you when you do your themed GAH juggle and we should see if we can talk the moderators into having a members video clip section so we could all watch.

Ralph: Now Class, If you look in your Dictonary for the Word "Busy" Or "Work" you would Find a Picture of MelMac and you would Read What MelMac Has Done, It is then you will know what The terms "Work" & "Busy" Actually Means. Class Dissmissed. ROTFL, GAH Chick, that's how I felt this weekend. At least the present I got in the gift exchange (a mini rock fountain) actually helped calm me down a bit. HD, I don't know if there'll be anyone recording the show, but the photog will be there (and I'll have to give him a request when he's shooting), so I'll probably have some good pics to post when it's over, well maybe the next day.
