Who are these people, BW?? I have no idea....
That's ok. When I talk GAH to most people, they think the same thing...
Fools.
So, Hinkley's Girl? I don't even know what to think.

Don't know anything about it. I could honestly say I don't think I've ever seen it.

LOL, yea, 250 buck for me! (Sidles on over between Bob Culp and Richard Dawson.... hey, babies...) I need some Peter Newkirk fanfic now. Someone write me some. Wait, I'm braincramping now... it is Peter, right? It's Robert Hogan, Louis LeBeau, Andrew Carter and Peter Newkirk, right? Do they ever say Kinchloe's first name? Peter sounds right too for me. I don't know Washington's character's name though (the guy who replaced Kinch), but he wasn't nearly as strong as Ivan Dixon though. I think out of the cast, only Ivan Dixon, Robert Clary and Richard Dawson are the only ones left (Washington disappeared from the radar, so I don't know there). Carter died a couple of years ago (and I was surprised he taught at a university in Texas for many years before his death) and I knew Bob Crane, Schultz and Klemperer passed away at least a few years ago. A neat fact about Klink is that Warner Klemperer, who was a Jew, would only agree to do the role of Klink if he was a buffoon. I think it worked great as a. it made the show even funnier and b. they respected Klemperer to make the change even more so.

Schultz went first...then Crane was murdered in 1973...Klink died in the 2000s...I forget what year...and Leon Askin (General Burkhalter died just a year or so ago). Most of the gang are still alive, but ailing from what I hear....they keep me informed. Oh...and BW...James Kinchloe was the name of our favorite Sgt. and sometimes GAH director.

Ah, so many cool replies for me to reply to in turn.
First off, who's this Washington guy? I don't remember any HH without Kinch. Maybe we stopped watching it after he left (I never knew he had). Kinda like when The Andy Griffith Show went color and Barney was gone. Yawnsville. The Heroes just wouldn't be the same without Kinch manning the radio.
And James... thanks, HD. I'll keep that little factoid for when I try my hand at some Hogan's Heroes fic (okay, who am I kidding? Peter Newkirk fic.)
Now, on to Jo's posts... heh.

Who are these people, BW?? I have no idea.... As HD and Mel so adroitly answered, and I'll paraphrase, YOU DON'T KNOW HOGAN'S HEROES?? THAT'S.. THAT'S UN-AMERICAN! That's like saying you don't know F-Troop, McHale's Navy, Gilligan's Island, I Dream of Jeannie, Addams Family and Bewitched. Oh, wait, I'm old... I guess you're excused. Sort of. OMG, jo, Richard Dawson in that show... Peter Newkirk. Whew, I'm dying. He was the cockney corporal in the British RAF, the safe-cracking, wallet-pinching specialist, lol... well, he did a lot more than that. But he was their sneaky-pete (pun intended) in their covert operations based out of Luftstalag 13. So, Hinkley's Girl? I don't even know what to think. I know, that was the whole point... if you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with I say Actually, I was perusing my icons folder, saw this FINE piece o'man without the shirt on, blond hair shining in the sun, his top pulled off and radio on...oh, wait, wrong fantasy. Sorry. I dunno, he just looked so yummy there, had to put it on my profile for a while. (Smootchie-bootchies, Bill! )

His number is embedded in my memory... LOLOL I'm dying here! I'm glad I didn't read that phone number while still (more recently) recovering from the extraction I had done this past Friday. The phone number says it all indeed... I suppose Bill didn't mention I was already on my way over, did he? (With Ralph, btw, but that's for the ScenarioSmut board, heh.) Silly boy, it should've been 555-4469. He always gets it wrong. (Checks the topic... yep, my thread. Okay, just wondering.)

Mr. Noir knows the show... I just never saw it.
Me? Un-American? Well, perhaps I am an Irish girl with lefty tendencies spying on Bill...
Ah, Cr*p. I'm O'Neil.
At least I might have gotten some.

Ah, you think to usurp me, Ms. Noir, by changing my thread title to HINKLEYSGIRL??
Oh, I'm dying... laughing my a$$ off too, btw... as long as you plan on changing it back once I leave off this very temporary Ralph fascination.
Speaking of which, I need to go catch up on "What Happens At Cons" now. Ta.
(Maybe some day the boys will get to leave off with Saturday evening and get on with the con and other fun stuff, huh?)

To quote Mark Hamill in "Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back," "Don't with the Jedi Master, son!" I'd put his character's name in here, but it's naughty and GG and MyTatuo and the other mods would so hit me. Kevin Smith added that kindly enough, George Lucas didn't sue him for all the Star Wars references in the movie.

I'll keep that little factoid for when I try my hand at some Hogan's Heroes fic (okay, who am I kidding? Peter Newkirk fic.) Now, on to Jo's posts... heh. Kenneth Washington, who played Sergeant Richard Baker in the last season, replaced Ivan Dixon. He's OK and not on screen nearly as much, but it'd been nice to see what happened to Kinch (though I'll admit the only ep I've seen of the fifth season is the one where LeBeau is injured in a mission, passes out in the bunker, and Hogan makes a comment about LeBeau fainting from seeing such a small amount of blood.) HD... Larry Hovis died in 2003 too (in San Marcos near New Braunfels...). So, as far as regular actors, heroes it's Clary (who I think still acts and he's in his 80s,) Dawson, Dixon and Washington. The secretaries are also still alive and a few of the guests I remember from the show, such as William (Father Mulchachy") Christopher.

Mel--I love how you tell me things that I have already agreed too...I knew Carter was dead...I didn't say he wasn't. BW--No problem on Kinch..he is my favorite of the gang I think. He left at the end of the 5th season, so if you only watched reruns, you might not have noticed him gone. However, our friend who replaced him was there since day one on the show. He is one of the background prisoners...the other black prisoner of war. Also, Dawson is really a prick about HOGAN'S HEROES. He won't sign anything from the show because he refuses to relive it. He tried out for Hogan and failed...and got Newkirk instead...and stayed bitter, even though most people loved his character. (If you notice, he is the one missing the most in episodes). Plus, it was a close friend of Dawson's that is suspected of killing Crane after Dawson introduced them. Finally, we have the huge flap that sent Dawson and the Match Game separate ways...I have to say that his characters were something, but the man himself must have been a prick. My favorite Nazi: Our favorite Major.
