Joey's got nothing on my talent, baby... when I get a few minutes off work, I'm gonna write HD a song...
No. Even better.
THE FIRST GAH SONG WRITING CHALLENGE!! (Original lyrics only...to the tune of old diddy's or new hits)
Our First Challenge is to use these two commonly used words or phrases in a GAH themed song.
1) Diddley Squat 2) Kumquat
Come on.... how can you resist a challenge like that!!!??

I had to summon every creative atom remaining in my body for the Match Game round five questions, I've got nothing left in me. My Muse seems to be on permanent holiday.

Just in case anyone wasn't absolutely certain of this...I am Murdock
They call him "Howling Mad" and with good reason. Once a top notch pilot, the pressures of war left Murdock mad. He is known for his smirk, variety of personas and overall mental instability. When he isn't spending time institutionalized, Murdock is using his flying skills for the A-Team, driving B.A. nuts and talking to his imaginary dog. Which A-Team member are you???[/size]

You most closely represent.... Col. John "Hannibal" Smith Cool and dangerous Hannibal is a soldier for life. He was a well respected colonel in Vietnam who was forced to hide in the underground after being charged for a crime he didn't commit. The leader of the A-Team, Hannibal is a crafty tactician and as he always said "I love it when a plan comes together." You most closely represent.... Captain H.M. Murdock They call him "Howling Mad" and with good reason. Since some of the answers were so close, I had to go back and redo it with the other set. I am not surprised by the answers...I am sure if I did the other set of answers, I would be Face...I have aspects of all of them in me, so I am not surprised.

Seriously, were they challenges, or did you just break out into tune? Billswoman's got one of my songs already.

No, but he's done odes to where greenguy was, Texas Juggling Girl (no prizes there guessing who that's about) and one dedicated to the members of this board. None of which includes those words. BTW, why are you so into Kumquats right now? Then again, I've been going on about "Logan's Run" ever since hearing the "Match Game" theme song.

Oh yeah, we're in the OT area... good.
No need to repeat what Jo said... I came out Captain Murdock as well.
I figgered I'd be B.A., but what do I know about A-Team any way?

Some thoughts on Billswoman's Irrational Hatred of the A-Team.
I think she has this mental block over it because all her girlfriends say it's not cool and it stinks, so she has to fit in and also say it's not cool and it stinks.
But she's not going to like it by visiting a forum. She's going to (hear me... she is GOING to) like it by watching the pilot and maybe one or two first season episodes.
I really think she is GOING to like it once she gets over this silliness. Here's the evidence.
She likes shoot 'em up action She likes all that military stuff She likes wacky comedy, punch lines and silly plot twists She likes SJ Cannell productions She will appreciate Hannibal's tough guy sarcasm, but deep down good natured-ness.
So, considering all this... why doesn't she like it? Because probably when it came out, when she was just getting out of college, she thought it was a silly kid show... and she can't get past that. Either that or somewhere, sometime, someone told her it's not cool... or it stinks...
HD, I don't know about you, I'm a little insulted. Aren't you? We say it's great, J-Man likes it... but she doesn't trust our opinions... Hmmmmm... Yet she'll trust all those other opinions???
(Now if that doesn't put the A-Team on her Netflix Queue, I don't know what will.)

I don't like mustard greens, but I have found out I like collard greens. A-Team I'm a bit like Murdock myself, sometimes a little bit of the others (especially when I have a temper (BA). And, I don't think I'll look at kumquats the same way right now. Bad enough I'm watching out for that school of fish that attacked Bill, Ralph and Pam.

(Now if that doesn't put the A-Team on her Netflix Queue, I don't know what will.)I agree with most of your reasons, Josie. I like how she will listen to some people like the JMan regarding people like Robert Culp, but not listen to him on things like the A-Team. Plus, she seems to love some of the stuff YOU write about, but she is anti the A-Team based on nothing...except hearsay. Personally, I think she would love it because if nothing else, she can compare Hannibal to Bill...they were a lot alike and I could see Culp having played the role if not for still filming GAH. I agree that she should watch it, but the pilot has the Face dilemma which is a reason I hate for her to watch it. I think some of the best episodes should be watched first...and then when she has the proper respect, she can go back. I don't see how never watching...and trusting other people who have probably never watched it...is going to let her know that she doesn't like it. What are we...chopped liver here? As for the college kid reason...GAH would be roughly the same wouldn't it? Why does she like it when she could only remember one thing about Bill all those years? Maybe she should give the A-Team the same chance?

I really think she is GOING to like it once she gets over this silliness. Here's the evidence. She likes shoot 'em up action - This is true. She likes all that military stuff - True as well. She likes wacky comedy, punch lines and silly plot twists - True, true. She likes SJ Cannell productions - Eh... not really that many of them. GAH and Rockford are the only ones that immediately come to mind. She will appreciate Hannibal's tough guy sarcasm, but deep down good natured-ness. - Who?So, considering all this... why doesn't she like it? Because probably when it came out, when she was just getting out of college, she thought it was a silly kid show... and she can't get past that. (Nope.) Either that or somewhere, sometime, someone told her it's not cool... or it stinks... (Wrong again.)HD, I don't know about you, I'm a little insulted. Aren't you? I trust your opinion, Jo.(Now if that doesn't put the A-Team on her Netflix Queue, I don't know what will.) I don't Netflix.***More Stuff ***
Remember when I mentioned "stoopid" above? Here it is... in one word and a letter... Mr. T.
I have this thing with some shows, that if I dislike one character, I won't watch the show. From the ads alone, I thoroughly disliked that character. I'm sure some of you folks remember how much publicity that man got with this show and that public persona. I've always been like this; if someone says, This is great, watch it! I immediately do not want to watch it. Maybe it's some type of stubbornness, maybe it was one of the only ways that I, as the youngest of seven, could utilize a little individuality and rebellion. Mom tried to make me watch "To Kill a Mockingbird" once, and all I did was sit there and sulk for ten minutes, till she told me to get the hell out of the room. Years later, it was on, and she didn't say a word. I became intrigued by it, and sat down and watched it, and loved it. Mom had finally realized, Do not make Helen watch/like something; just do it, and she'll come around.
Now, don't think I'm picking on A-Team exclusively. I've never seen that, Dukes of Hazzard, Seinfeld, and many other shows that were big. I liked Friends in the first couple/three seasons, then when it suddenly became the national craze, I was like, Eh, whatever, and left it.
Shows that I won't watch because of one character: A-Team. Stargate Atlantis. Taxi. Three's Company. (Those are the ones that immediately come to mind.)
There are shows out there that some people just won't like; one doesn't need to see it to know, I won't like this, it looks dumber'n dumb.
The sheer fact that I took that test should tell you something. In the past, I wouldn't have clicked on it for anything, but like I said, I was thinking I'd come out B.A. (there were so many incessant ads for this show, that I picked some of it up by osmosis, kind of like Seinfeld.) From what I understand, Murdock (Murdoch?) is cool (and I think it's funny how he's Reg Barkley from the Star Trek shows).
That is all.
