Yes, but I am five inches taller than that so imagine it at MY height. Yes... you'd really have fun not trying to bean yourself on the overhangs of the Constitution, the Texas and probably the Lexington (which has higher overhangs. Will say you wouldn't be able to get into the gun turrets on the Texas. Shame too, they're really cool. Only ship I know of that you can see that part. Got to go through a walk through the Bible drive through this weekend as well. It was really neat and they did a good job, though it was very windy at points. They did well considering the mats tried to blow away half the time.

I could get into the turrets, but I would not stay long. I am very bendy.

I could get into the turrets, but I would not stay long. I am very bendy. True... they are small, but they are interesting. Only other cool aspect is if you go to the observation deck of the San Jacinto Monument, you can see the ship from a bird's eye view. It's really impressive, but I realize now I'll have to put in my pics in a few days, just so I can show a little bit about what ship I'm talking about.

Something else I've noticed - the colder it gets, the more people want ice cream around here. We had a sundae event here, and it's not the only time I've seen it around town. Why now and not during the warmer months I don't know.

Because a lot of people don't have problems selling ice cream when it is WARM out, Mel.

Because a lot of people don't have problems selling ice cream when it is WARM out, Mel. True, but it is almost as contradictory/oxymoron as frozen hot fudge. Will admit the ice cream was good though...

Neither is freezing weather in the day and not wearing my jacket at night because it's warm, but it's the way it is.

Or the way the gods amuse themselves at your expense. Guess so... the "cold snap" lasted all of one day. Now, supposedly we're supposed to have gotten it tomorrow, so we still might be up for a chill coming our way. Of course, given it was foggy all day and night yesterday... it could've been a false positive for a cold snap and tomorrow we're in for it.

Either way you are not in the situation with winter weather that others are. Suck it up.

It's winter??? Funny, went to Best Buy yesterday (woohoo!) to get the latest MST3K DVD Volume wearing a short sleeve shirt! No white Christmas for us, I guess.. Which is typical around here.

I hate you. OK... just how high is the snow? Is it high as your eye? High as the sky? High as the stars? All right, was trying to do a spoof on a song from "Oklahoma," but realized it wouldn't work as HD's from Iowa. One thing that just got me though... I did get the song stuck in my head that the town sings to Harold in "The Music Man" when he arrives. That "Oh, there's nothing halfway about the Iowan way to greet you when we greet you which we may not do at all." (But... that doesn't fit you, so no parodies to that. )

Didn't stop you from trying anyway I see. Maybe you should leave the spoofs to me, Texas Juggle Girl. The ice is about an inch thick and the snow is a few inches thick. It is not bad overall, but could be hazardous for all my students that would have had to get out for the final today. Now, they have to take it Monday. *Sigh*

None of them showed up for the actual presentation, so he got lucky. And some people can get knocked out by black ice. I wouldn't put anything past you.

I'm still thankful for a very well packed backpack. I've been put under twice, but never physically knocked out (as in blow), and I don't plan on that anytime soon. And, I'm glad for that student, because while his grade was harmed partially, it's better to get full credit for the work you do over getting harmed by people who think college is one big party. It's both - party and study, and they can do both.
