Dr. Mego (www.megodoctor.com) sells replacement parts and some new heads, including a custom Ralph (not based on the original prototype, not that it matters)...which I happen to be using in my own little GAH action figure project and is a LOT cheaper than the one in this auction. It's pretty much there...a one-piece red suit and a short cape that can be made in black. All you would then need is a few self-made details. Dr. Mego's alternate website, www.7thsttoys.com has a line called Planet Gods, one of which looks exactly like GAH minus the chest emblem. Looks like it uses white medical tape for the trim. But if you have someone handy who can sew (like I do) some very thin ribbon will do the trick. ;D But this version might come in at a few dollars cheaper than buying the parts separately...I didn't see it until I had started buying the parts or I probably would have taken this shortcut.

Are you doing action figure movies. I first started making AF movies back in 1983. When the camera was huge and had to be conected to a vcr. awesome stuff. ofcourse they were star wars movies ;D

Ah...Ray Harryhausen meets Hardware Wars! You get points for patience. I, on the other hand, know I wouldn't have any at all if I tried stop-motion. Aside from some TV commercials, high-school musicals and concerts, and a couple of mountain-storyteller videos, I'm still trying to break into the live-action video production field as it is! No, I saw the GAH head on Dr. Mego's site and decided right then and there that I would just make my own figure and not wait to have a couple million dollars free to buy a prototype, or wait for a new version of GAH that would undoubtedly spark Original Series merchandise to go along with the new guy (aside from the recent Ralph Hinckley statue from Electric Tiki, which I do own by the way! ;D ) I'm still some time away from getting it done, but when I do I'll be sure to post pictures. One reason it's taking so long is there are going to be a couple of surprises included by the time my collection is done.

OMG, someone else who knows Hardware Wars?? "You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll kiss three bucks goodbye!"
Also, that first link to the doll; that looks more like Dennis the Menace, William Katt's stunt double (who was just too stocky to play Ralph's double, and that WIG, yikes!)

Me, too! Me, too! I'm a geek-girl and prou- well, I can live with it.
But here's a challenge for anyone who saw Hardward Wars, etc. when they were new - do you remember a short called "Block and Tackle Meet Scary People"?
I remember it as being a gut-bustingly funny take off on Abbott and Costello-type monster flicks. Of course, I remembered "Scavenger Hunt" as killing and when I saw it again lately it was actually kind of deadly. But I'd still like to see "B&T" again - does anyone remember it or know if it's available?
/This means something!/

I don't recall Block & Tackle, but Scavenger Hunt?? Do you mean the one with Richard Benjamin, Vincent Price, Cloris Leachman, et al? OMG, I love that movie! I've been dying to find a copy of it.
Have y'all ever seen the original SHORT version of The Wizard of Speed & Time?

We used to see a lot of those short films at the early sci-fi cons here in Seattle; I wonder if some of the folks nowadays could dredge a few up. When I first saw Hardware Wars, I thought I'd DIE laughing, being a newbie to both the "big city" Seattle scene and all things sci-fi cons (I was a con virgin at Norwescon 2, which had Stephen King for the guest of honor). We saw HW, Wizard of Speed & Time, the two original Star Trek blooper reels (which I now have on my computer, it's awesome!) I'm sure lots of others, but those were the ones that stuck in my memory. I was rather disappointed when they made the Wizard of Speed & Time into a "full length" movie; the 7 minute short couldn't be improved upon (eg, when he's bombing along and you see a banana peel in the road and you KNOW what's going to happen, and he slips and goes airborne and does a loopdy-loop around a 747, lol!) Jason, are we going to get the inside poop on that film you're doing? And I'm glad it's 2D; I can't see 3D At all. I vote we get an advanced screening.

I am schooled hand drawn 2D animator. The only time I work in 3D is action figure movies. Clay was never a fave. I will pass along the info when I get a scanner for one. And more on paper.
I have a Space Ghost type parody in the works. That is online with me as the 'hero'. It will be a comic strip using pics of me in costume, miniatures, and stuff. I think Gah fans will like it. But we will see. And of course I have GAH fan stuff in the works (long time coming)

You know, I did the Geek Girl test on Okcupiddotcom, and of course, I'm a geek girl. I got pondering my geekiness, when it began to work its insidious way into my being, and I realized something: I've been a geek all my life. Really, I have. Ask any of my six siblings, and they'll agree. This even pre-dates my turning into a Trekkie then a science fiction geek, both at the tender age of 10.

I am not a geek in the sense of the conversation on this thread, but I have my moments, although I was NOT contracted into the Geek Squad this last weekend at my conference.
