I saw this on the Yahoo group, and wanted to pass it along: tv.yahoo.com/the-a-team/show/28506/news/urn:newsml:tv.eonline.com:20080324:e6f19653_e79148b4_a4c2_efae133659f1 (You'll need to just copy and paste the link ... why I have no clue as to why the whole URL won't link up, and the hyperlink does no good. )
While SJC's site has nothing on this as of yet (just that Stingray is being released), it does provide an interesting read.
And, unlike other news we've heard, this one does mention that Variety has released the date, making it more plausible than the scuttlebutt we've heard about a "Greatest American Hero" movie being filmed in July.
Now, question is - who will they cast in the roles? Harrelson's name being mentioned surprised me a little bit. There are several that come to mind as possibles, but he's one I haven't thought of. Not sure if he could pull it off though, as I've only seen him as either a naive idiot or totally rambunctious in good and bad ways (but not Murdock ways).
Ice Cube as B.A. I think would work. He does well in the "Law and Order" series he's in, and could possibly pull it off. Ving Rhames is another choice here too.

Mel, your title is misleading. Obviously the way the story is written (I saw it a while back), it is a huge step back since SJC is not involved and cast recommendations like Woody are stupid. That's why I didn't post it here or on my forum...I would hope that it does not get made as announced here.

I changed the title to "Well - sort of," so (and I agree, Woody is NOT a good choice because of the two reasons I mentioned. ) And, it's still got a long way to go, but it's still better than the tripe that we've gotten about "The Greatest American Hero" being produced (or, for that matter comments being made around the web that the "TGAH 2008" project is the precursor to that).

I agree. At least it is more of a reputable story.

Oh geeze. Not Woody Harrelson.

Agreed, ThatGirl. There are so many better actors if they are not using Dwight Schultz.

The idea of using Harrelson makes the whole project a wasted effort.

Harrelson is probably the only one I know of so far I don't want in the movie. The only thing I've liked him in was "Cheers" as Woody. The rest of the time he just loves playing controversial characters, and I have a feeling he'd go one extreme or the other here, when ironically it's a mix of both. Jim Carey I think could do it, given he's showing a lot of restraint now in his movies, but there are still even better ones than him.

Found this on another site of another favorite serial I like "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" - save this is the "official" guide: www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/F19585?thread=5537788I haven't seen any way out there ideas yet, but guess we'll have to wait and see where it turns up.

I am still hoping this bombs. If it will not even stay true to the spirit of the original show, I hope it never gets made.

Totally agree there - in the case of this thread above, it's more of a fun joke if you will on what people might see in it, not what they want. It helps too that "H2G2" is more of a UK group - though it welcomes all countries. (Though the idea of a subway train being fused together to run around in circles is a funny picture). But, just like "GAH," if they can't do "A-Team" in true spirit of the show, I'd rather let it rest.
