I would have gotten every answer except the episode he was in pictured above... Yeah, but that wasn't one of the questions, anyway...was it? Regardless, who is Robert Culp shaking hands with in this picture, and why should it matter to us? Really. Why?

That is Ivan Dixon from Hogan's Heroes. Why we should care? I don't know. It is from I SPY.

I've never seen Ivan Dixon in anything post "Hogan's Heroes" (though I had a hunch looking at the pic) but he's important in GAH lore because he directed a few of the episodes. One of them, "The Price Is Right," Ralph's classmate, who sees him change into the suit, was apparently named after him.

J-Man, if I didn't know the episode, and I don't know Star Trek, then I would have a hard time knowing his character in that piece of trivia. Duh. As for why should we care on Ivan Dixon, he directed several episodes of THE GREATEST AMERICAN HERO. Piece of cake.

It's Ivan Dixon, as many have said, and it matters to us, as GAH fans, because he directed many episodes, including the extraordinarily good "Divorce Venusian Style."

How many FBI cars did Bill trash? I think seven total were mentioned, but maybe 5 that were onscreen.

They say in "Lilacs" that it's five; one of those, however, Ralph trashed (in "Best Desk Scenario"). So by the end of season 2: four.
"Heaven is in your genes," Bill trashes another.
From there, in the remainder of S3, I don't know. I haven't seen them often enough to recall offhand.

I've got another "How many times...?" question, after watching part of "Divorce..."
How many times did Bill ever actually KILL anyone? I mean, in "Divorce..." we see him blow out a car tire, shoot the hand of the guy who shot Ralph... and in "Beast in the Black," Sheila says, And I mention, he's a very good shot!
So it's obvious in "Divorce..." that he was specifically targeting the tire and the hand (he could easily have killed the guy who shot Ralph, but didn't). That's what got me wondering how many times, if ever, Bill's shot and killed a bad guy.
Being primarily a family-oriented show, I imagine not too often. In fact, I can't recall a time when he killed anyone on purpose.

Is it me or did they kind of get away from the whole 'how many cars Bill crashed' thing in season 3? Kind of the same way they veered away from showing the kids too (although, with Paré and Grant gone, that was probably a GOOD idea...)

Am I the only GAH fan that really doesn't mind the kids, even in S3? Some of the stories featuring them, like Fire Man and Lost Diablo, are favorites of mine. Or one of my alltime faves, Beast in the Black; that's "kids intensive."

Well, Ralph was shot lots of times while wearing the suit, that's no biggie.
If you're refering to what I was asking, what I wondered was how many times BILL shot and KILLED someone. In "Divorce..." as I cited, he could very easily have shot and killed the guy who shot Ralph, but expertly targeted the guy's gunhand instead (which you see bandaged up later in the ep).
I don't recall a single time them showing Maxwell actually killing someone with his guns.

I guess it would have been beyond the pale on a "family show" for the good guys to kill people - only bad guys could do that (unless the episode was about their subsequent angst). Did anyone else bust a gut over that very thing while watching The A-Team? It seemed like every episode the bad guys rolled a car (which subsequently burst into flame, of course) and in the next shot they'd climb out of the wreckage , clearly not dead.
Hey, I've got a trivial question. It's not exactly trivia, because I don't know the answer. Can anyone tell me - what is that big, round appliance on top of Bill's fridge? I grew up in the 70's (I think I still suffer from a mild case of macrame-poisoning) and the damn thing looks really familiar. But I can't for the life of me think what it is.

You know, I just noticed it myself for the first time, I think in the one scene of "Space Ranger" that I like, when they're in Bill's apartment.
I've seen some old refrigerators, but never with something like that, but I think it's part of the freezer unit. If I recall, it's the same color (beige? Dirty white? Just plain dirty?) as the fridge itself.
Ooh, another 70's child, far out! Well, I'm more a 70's child/pre-teen/teen m'self.
