Just to sum-up: 1- Has the audio been remastered in 5.1? 2- Have they replaced just the COVERS and not any of the "original" songs? ('Don't let me down', for instance).

1. I don't think so, and probably not unless it was made for stereo (which from the sound to me it sounds like that it wasn't).
2. Yes... and no. Yes, they replaced just the covers of the songs and not the original songs such as "don't let me down." That said, not all the covers were replaced - "The Greatest Love Of All" in "GAHeroine" remains.

1- Does it sound good, anyway? "Cleaned-up" and restored? It's mono 2.0.

I'll find a way, Mel... will find a way.

I'll find a way, Mel... will find a way. LOL... don't worry, I'm sure you will. If they can get "Ghostbusters" to Italy quickly, I'm sure they will "GAH." This goes doubly so now that they're doing the comics and animated shorts soon.

It might depend on each set of DVDs. Some sets might have it, but some probably do not. I doubt it is common across the board or other members would have complained about it.

I agree with HD's comments but wanted to mention too that a lot of the older shows have that hissing sound. I don't know if it's because the shows were in mono (a lot were at the time) and the stereo is affecting the sound or if it's something else. I've had the same minor issues on "Buck Rogers," and "The Wild, Wild West" too. Doesn't affect the overall quality IMHO.

The thing is: You probably won't settle it. It could be the DVDs for some, it could be the DVD player or TV for others. You are not going to 100% settle it I doubt.

Sometimes it is just the speakers or the way the DVD is scratched or something. It doesn't mean that all of the DVDs are that quality.

I've opened 2 different sets of all three seasons and I hear no hissing in any of the episodes.

OKAY! I can sleep again... anyway, a guy on IMDB has told me the dialogues sound great, but some of the songs are "muddy"...
