I am curious to see if it will be recurring or not. If it is, that will dampen my enthusiasm I am sure.
It is not top priority anyway though since I have yet to get any of the newly released stuff.

It is odd that Katt and Co. think to change what really worked to begin with (for example, changing Mackie's name; they changed his age to draw a younger crowd, no doubt)--but I'm open to seeing how it plays out, leery, but open, just as I'm leery but open about continuing Gabriel's Army. Just so long as it doesn't stray too far from the core theme of the show. One wonders if they'd change it so anyone can read the book--it took Ralph in a suit to see it. That would certainly take away from the specialness of the suit, if someone figures out how to read the instructions. That would, for me, kind of suck, actually. But, the first issue was good, so let's hope it continues to be good.

yea, I see what you mean, and it could get old quick. But at first it will be fun and exciting. Oooh just around 14 days to go till its ready to buy? I need an official release date. Anybody know? a few weeks from what Katt said. I guess it depends on teh distributor too. But if all goes well...

You also have to figure in things such as printing press issues (large and small) and other issues. I just hope it's nothing major such as printing something with the text backwards (which I've seen happen).

Well, I just got my copy in the mail from Ms B, and have read it. I got the variant, which is really cool because it's red, but varigated as it goes toward the center. As far as the artwork on the front itself, it is the same. As far as the inside, I do have to agree with one comment made by a reviewer it's not quite polished. There are two pages that for some reason look like the actual drawings were sent at a little bit larger, because on these pages, the artwork runs slightly off the page and some of the text is cut out. The other pages have at least a half an inch of white bordering the comic from the edge. That said, more than likely it was a production error as they could've checked to make sure the plates that had the comic on them were the proper size. As far as the story, well, even being spoiled, I was still pleasantly surprised. The drawings of both Katt and Culp were well made, and I really am interested in seeing Pam's when she appears. [glow=red,2,300] SPOILERS FOLLOW. Please do not read unless you don't mind being spoiled. [/glow] The attack of the birds on the one skinhead was quite creepy. I like how they crossed a vulture - though I think it's a condor because of the red irises, with a bird of prey. Turkey buzzards are already mean critters where I come from, so knowing in this story has them also acting like falcons and attacking people makes it creepier. ) The only irony of the scene is that it causes some confusion later on, but you'll have to read closely to figure it out. I love the blowing up items - because it fits in with the odd ideas Ralph had in the original run to get his kids interested in things. He had them go to the desert, to hear the Lone Ranger give a speech, etc. And - it does at least teach the kids that there is a way to channel their more idiotic tendencies (i.e. Tony's little escapade here) into something productive. [glow=red,2,300] END SPOILERS[/glow] Overall good first book - needs tweaks here and there for the second one, but still good.

Back in the country for a couple of weeks, and one of my first stops was a local comic book shop. Plenty of issue 1's on the rack, but nothing of 2 or 3. The owner said they had been "pre-sold-out", which I guess means they didn't even have to put them on the shelves.
I like issue 1, but man, was it short! I don't read a lot of comic books (except old BTTF's and QL's), but it seems they took a lot of pages just to reach the spaceship, and then "to be continued"?! Did I MENTION I couldn't get my hands on the other two books?
I also thought they captured Culp a lot better than Katt; maybe it's just the lack of a big old blond 'fro, but he doesn't even look like Season-Three Katt who could now AFFORD a decent haircut.
The comic shop owner said he'd look around at ComicCon, and I should come back in before I leave the country again, but he didn't seem real hopeful. He had a pretty bad attitude concerning Arcana and other indie publishers. Oh, well...

With one exception where Bill looks a lot like Robert Wagner (the scene where he's looking up at the ship while Ralph is trying the door - the panel before both are looking up at the spaceship), you're right they got Culp quite well. While I can see Katt quite well in his rendering too (Connie's is sadly the worst - but won't spoil), I can also see them trying to attempt to make him look 25 instead of Katt's real age at the time (a little older). As far as the comic guy - I've noticed a lot of places seem to look down on indies (at least the one or two places here that even supply comics or manga). You might try the catastrophic comics group on e-Bay - I think you can still get copies of the second two. Marci would know for sure though.

Welcome back to the country, MyTatuo. ;D Sorry you had such bad luck. I haven't gotten mine yet either, but mainly because I haven't been to a store that sells comic books like that in a long time.

Well, crap. Now that I know I could have had signed copies of 1 & 2 for $15... Now if I buy 2 & 3 signed separately for $20, my first issue will get jealous. Plus I can't seem to add them together to hopefully combine shipping. Maybe I'll just wait until this guy gets back from ComicCon first...

I'll be posting all 3 for $20 autographed to you by William Katt. I just have to have him tell me how much it was to ship 3 stores.shop.ebay.com/catastrophic-comics2

That's cool. Getting all three at once and autographed would be cool.

I did order all three signed by Katt, and each with a funny request; we'll see if he signs them that way:
#1-Tom, listen: Take off that suit! You're almost 40; it looks ridiculous! (TRUST me!) - W______ K___ #2-Hi, Tom! From YOUR Greatest American Hero, W______ K___ (Oh, and Marci says Hi, too. Really, can I borrow a shirt?) #3- Hey, Tom? I spoke to Cannell, but I couldn't get you in the movie, sorry. How 'bout another autograph from me instead? - W______ K___

BAHAHA! I wanna see photos if he does sign them that way. ;D It's possible - he has signed a photo for Marci that read "Hey Marci - Give My Shirt Back - William Katt." But, no guarantees here - the day Marci got that (The first time she met him), was a very neat day to begin with. (well, says the person who wrote a fan letter to him, not expecting anything back, yet he mails back an autograph anyway).
