Did anybody else notice that on the cover (upper left hand corner) it says dif'rent in CDN? Is that normal to spell "different" that way for comics? Not that I know of for sure. Speculations, though are another thing. One thing that I thought of was that it could be due to mailing restrictions or such (i.e. postage and such), but I doubt they'd mail the comics like they would a magazine given the popularity of the comic book and the perils of sending things through mail. The only other tihg I thought of was to keep things trim as far as the text and to note that the comic would cost a different price in Canada.

I talk to Katt all the time. I've been friends with the old boy since writing the script for the GAH movie and wanting him to be in something I was directing as well. He didn't tell me he was ending the books, only that the hoops the company was having to jump through were there. I've been on the phone or out to lunch and had extensive conversations about how hard it tis to make something work without having a million dollars before you start. I even helped him with the books a bit - (like the person who finds the instructions book at the end of 2 - I know who it is because I came up with it). Bill wants to do so much with this series and even though he's nice enough to send me copies of Sparks and GAH - I still go out and buy them to support his efforts. I've even offered my writing services for free just because he's that nice of a guy. Thanks for that interesting info, Mortimer. It's a good feeling to know your childhood hero IS a good guy in real life.

A Supercool guy, who I've been trying to get to visit the board and will one day. He's putting a lot into these books and really hoping to give fresh new stories - but he was required to do the origin story first and that has (in my opinion) slowed what he was hoping to do -- and have the series pick up in modern day with Bill and Ralph still working together in 2005 dealing with bigger problems, but being a much more refined team, at almost a "no need for instruction book" level. That, I would have loved to see. Who knows - maybe he's ll get to do it - he deserves success.

They're set more present day and that'd affect a few things. Then again - save a couple of minor things - doesn't mean it's dated present tense either. Could still be set a few years earlier or later than our present day.

He may like it better than facebook but in our chat room. He was a bit frazzled after fb. The only bad part at the same time good in an organizational pov, is that you have to keep refreshing to see the new posts. But if it was a chat room he might not have as much time to answer. We'll do another one at some point. I think I"ll encourage more postings for him to answer at his leisure. It was intimate but i think people may not have thought it was really him. The last thing I want to do is fry the guy.

That's why he should come here. He can post at his own leisure with no time limit. ;D

It can probably be overwhelming though...especially if you have several people chiming in at once.

I guess they forgot that my computers were the ENIAC and (as far as school use) an Apple IIe. Then again it was a huge step from the Abacus and rocks I had been using earlier. ************************ BTW - I'm not one of those who didn't think it was him. There is a mannerism with how he speaks and writes that clearly showed in the typing I have not seen anyone else do anywhere else.
