On Sunday, July 4th, Syfy will be airing a 20-hour marathon of "The Greatest American Hero."
According to Syfy's schedule, it runs from 9 a.m. to 5 a.m. Unfortunately, which episodes will air remains a mystery.

Now we'll just have to see which versions they use... With original music or without!

The only two things I'm worried about here: 1. Are they going to use the altered or original versions? and 2. Are they going to be naive and put in "GAHeroine" - which will TOTALLY confuse a lot of people because it's so inane.

I'm just psyched to see it on regular TV again. It'll be so surreal to watch with commercials and (most likely) squashed credits. One thing to wonder... If it does well, will SyFy keep it around? Another reason to get me to watch SyFy regularly.

So what episodes should air during this marathon? My picks:
- Pilot - Saturday on Sunset Boulevard - My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys - The Best Desk Scenario - Operation Spoilsport - Don't Mess Around with Jim - The Good Samaritan - The Shock Will Kill You - Divorce Venusian Style - This is the One the Suit Was Meant For
Other possibilities:
- The Beast in the Black - The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea - A Chicken in Every Plot - The Price is Right - Fire Man - The Hit Car

Another reason to get me to watch SyFy regularly. Possibly, but maybe early morning like they did with "Dark Shadows," which was a fun way to wake up every morning a while ago. Or, they could be considering bringing back the show with a new cast - though I hope if they do that it's with a good cast like they did with the StayTuned version. (You know - there is the chance that this could be why they haven't done a second story in "GAH" on StayTuned.net... interesting. )

My guess is that they will be the altered versions since that was the way the show was syndicated on the Retro Television Network. However, for syndication Operation: Spoilsport was restored to its original version.
Sy Fy's press release was not accurate. They indicated the series has hasn't been seen on a national basis since it left ABC in 1983. We all know it started airing on FX in 1994 and that channel was also national.

Technically, FX was new back when it had GAH, and wasn't in every household yet - even though it was basic cable. My dad had it, but not in my house up in Connecticut at the time.

Yep, that is true. However it was still seen all across the country on a national level, even if it wasn't in every part of the country.
Where was your dad living at the time? It amazed me back then that FX was on from the first broadcast day in some very small populated areas, and not in some larger populated areas.

West Palm Beach, FL. We both live there now. I remember being jealous I couldn't see this cool new channel in CT. By the time my cable system (Comcast) added FX, the format and programming had long since changed up.

Wow, if they had changed the programming by the time your cable system added it, that was a long after they began broadcasting. I was lucky that the little town I lived in at the time (population around 9,000) had it from day one.
