William Katt will be returning to Knoxville, TN for FanBoy Expo, May 31-June 2 2013. I met him at AdventureCon in Knoxville in 2009 and took my nephews, who had a blast meeting him. They too are looking forward to seeing him again. Also attending will be Marc Singer, Jeremy Bulloch, Billy Dee Williams, and "Adventures in Babysitting"'s Keith Coogan, with a multitude of others you might recognize. fanboyexpo.com/

Are you going again this year?

We're certainly planning on going. As the only person that we know of who dressed up like Ralph, my youngest nephew (who was about seven at the time) made quite an impression on Mr. Katt. He's going to dress up again for this one to see if he remembers him.

Less than two weeks now until FanBoy Expo in Knoxville. So far, William Katt is still confirmed as a guest. Also appearing is Nicholas ("Xander") Brendon from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Margot Kidder, Jack O'Halloran, Anthony Michael Hall, Kane Hodder, Martin ("Sweep the Leg") Kove, a multitude of Walking Dead actors (I never watched the show myself), plus a lot of other familiar names. We'll also see Elvira, Mistress of the Dark herself, Cassandra Peterson :-).
Adam West and Burt Ward were scheduled to appear, but West had to bow out for health reasons and Ward cancelled also, wanting to make their appearances together at a later show.
However, as a consolation prize, the event has added Lee Majors. Always loved SMDM and watched The Fall Guy faithfully, so that's a welcome alternative.
Still not too late if anyone wants to make a trip!

Video - Lee Majors also was recently in the continuation of "Dallas" on TNT. He looks very good for his age and he can still act quite well.
And you've also now helped get "The Fall Guy" theme stuck in my head...again.

And you've also now helped get "The Fall Guy" theme stuck in my head...again. Can't help that; it's only one of the greatest theme songs evah... right up there with "Believe It Or Not", of course. Catchy tune, instantly recognizable... like Classic Battlestar Galactica, Knight Rider, Buck Rogers, Magnum PI, Simon & Simon, The A-Team, Hardcastle/McCormick, Airwolf, CHiPs, Sheriff Lobo, Movie MASH's "Suicide is Painless", The Rockford Files...oh heck, pick any show from those eras. I could go on all day. I don't watch much TV anymore, so I can only say my favorite show themes would be "Psych", "Doctor Who" and the theme from "Game of Thrones"...because that's pretty much all I watch, save "House of Cards" on Netflix. As for The Fall Guy, I actually found a YouTube clip of a favorite moment, guest-starring Lou Ferrigno as the Hulk: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8ef2tu4Tdo

Speaking of PSYCH, if you watch next week's episode, you can tell Anthony Michael Hall how much you liked/hated his performance in the season finale. ;D

Yeah, really! I just saw the preview for next week and it took a second to recognize him. Looks a little different even after his stint in "The Dark Knight." We shouldn't have any problem finding him once we get there now that we know what to look for. We saw Gil Gerard several years ago at a con, back when he was having health issues and was massively overweight... I only realized who he was when I noticed he still had the same Buck Rogers haircut! I watched a recent preview of his upcoming appearance in the Star Trek fan film series "Star Trek: Phase 2" where he plays a Starfleet admiral, and thankfully he looks much healthier and slimmed down. Check it out: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcXy36t9W8sI love the production values on this show!

Gil Gerard also was filmed for a "Buck Rogers" fan series attempt by James Cawley (the guy who is Kirk in the preview) as Buck's father. Erin Gray (Wilma Deering in the TV series) also appears in that scene as Buck's mother. It actually looked really good; but apparently it has gone nowhere.

I have seen the clip with Gerard and Gray; the series did indeed have potential, even replicating the 1930's idea of future technology, but I haven't heard anything out of it for a while either. There is a website, buckrogersbegins.com, but apparently it's no longer under their control as it talks about everything but.
They seem particularly busy right now anyway, not only finishing up Cawley's appearances as Kirk and filming new episodes with another Kirk actor, but also producing a prequel series with a younger Kirk...whew!
We're soon to be inundated with multiple Kirks: Shatner, Pine, Cawley, his replacement Brian Gross, Matthew Ewald as Cadet Kirk, and Vic Mignogna over at Star Trek Continues (by the same team behind Starship Farragut which, as a bonus, features James Doohan's son Chris as Mr. Scott).
Keep this up, and Kirk will have as many faces as The Doctor!

By the way, here's a photo from last year's FanBoy Expo of me and some actor you might recognize: Considering how much TV has changed over the years, our conversation consisted mostly of "They don't make 'em like they used to."

Have fun at the convention Vid. I wish that I could go to one of these to meet some of my favorite actors, but usually the ones they attend tend to be in towns here where you do not want to go through the freeway traffic (i.e. Dallas).
I'd also love to go to thank Katt myself for signing my "Sparks" graphic novel after a slight mishap where I got sent one without his signature. He didn't have to do that, and I still appreciate it.

Should be fun, thanks. No kidding about traffic; I would love to go to a bigger convention like DragonCon in Atlanta, but one thing I would dread (besides the expense) is the traffic and crowds. I went to Manhattan once and nearly got killed twice by car: one by a taxi trying to get around my car to pass a garbage truck, and another time I was on the curb when another taxi cab skimmed a tad close for my taste. Guess I'm not cut out for the big city.

My case Dallas - and the last time I came close to it, I ended up being forced to take an exit that got me confused to the point it took me an extra hour to get to Rockwall. Missed the (thankfully free) sailboat ride, but at least I got to enjoy the rest of the weekend. Downtown Dallas? - no way in the universe unless work required it, or I had the greenguy's help (or supersuit )

Back from the Expo. On to the pics: Me with Jack O'Halloran. Although best known as Non from Superman/Superman II, I had him autograph my DVD of 1987's Dragnet with Dan Aykroyd and Tom Hanks. He signed it "Emil Muz" without even having to pause to remember. My girlfriend Linda with her target, Nicolas Brendon from "Buffy": Nephews Jared and Nick with a TV Batman look-alike, who also owns the Batmobile in the background: My sister Maggie with Cassandra Peterson, aka "Elvira, Mistress of the Dark": Maggie with Anthony Michael Hall. I mentioned seeing the finale of "Psych" the day before and how hilarious he was. He said he had already filmed two more episodes for next season. And William Katt, along with my newly-signed FX Convention Mego-style Ralph Hinkley action figure: Nick with Katt: Jared with Katt. He brought a hand-drawn GAH comic strip (little more than oval-shaped colored stick figures) for Katt to sign, but decided to just give him the strip instead. Of course, Mr. Katt was quite appreciative and full of praise. Here's the pièce de résistance. My biggest hero of the day however was Lee Majors. He came to the convention with his left arm in a sling with several fingers taped up. After we had our official portrait taken, I asked him about it at the autograph table. It turns out that he and his wife were involved in an auto accident in which their car was rear-ended at 50 MPH-- the day before. They were leaving the airport heading to the hotel when it happened, and he still showed up and posed for hundreds of photos with a busted arm and bad back. His wife (who, by the way, is OMG smokin' HOT!) had bruises all over her left arm. They were both in good humor about it and Majors was an absolute pleasure despite. Gotta hand it to the childhood icon who would still show up for the fans after all that.

Wow on Lee Majors - like with Katt and a few others, he is someone that these younger actors need to look at on how to be appreciative of their fans for their support instead of acting entitled. And - in this case it took guts because he would have a legitimate reason to drop out (as did Adam West with his health). And Cassandra Peterson (Elvira) is a lovely lady even out of the makeup - personally I think she looks prettier out of her character makeup, but I guess I'm just a lady who thinks less is more on makeup anyway. Thanks for sharing you and your family's experience Vid.

'Twas a good time. Occasionally there is the d-bag celebrity who acts like he would rather be eating paint chips than be at the convention (so why come? Mystery of the universe.) but I've not heard any negatories about these people. And at least with all the Elvira makeup, Ms. Peterson can actually go out in public and blend right in. If I didn't already know what she looked like, I could pass her on the street and not realize it.
