So William Katt is going to be appearing at the Mad Monster Party - The Carolinas Horror Convention here in Charlotte.. www.madmonster.com/events/charlotte2016/It looks like I am able to go since I live nearby. Planned to just go on Saturday with it being Easter Weekend. Unfortunately, I will miss The Greatest American Hero Q&A session they are having on Sunday at 3:30pm. Didn't realize there would be one till I had already set the plans to go on Saturday. HOWEVER, the fact that William Katt is attending being one of the main reasons I'm going. I'm going to try and get his autograph and hopefully a picture with him. The past two days I have been working on TGAH artwork, specifically Katt. This is what I'm going to get autographed (and being this is the third time I've done this method of getting my artwork autographed.. the other two times were pro wrestlers.. I'm a wrestling fan), I have two copies. One I will get signed for myself and the other I'm giving to William Katt. Anyways, here's the artwork! Also, as per usual... "Marci says hi..." will be said. lol

VERY cool artwork!
Hope it goes well! That sucks about missing TGAH Q&A. He didn't have anything like that when we met him in Indy a few years back.

I was able to meet him today. Really cool guy. I told him "Marci says hi." He responded, "Marci says hi.. Ohhhhhhhhhh gosh!" lol I gave him my artwork to sign and also mentioned that I knew Marci from here and that I've been looking up the filming locations for the show. He mostly talked about the shows that were in the area and mentioned Dragon Con. I told him this was my first time at the Horror one and that I usually go to the Heroes Convention (comic book one) which is getting bigger and bigger each year. After he signed my artwork I got a picture with him on my phone. There were different prices.. a price for autographing one of the stills at his booth, a price for a photo with him (or that was included with an autograph) and a price for items you bring to get autographed. I finished with the interaction and walked off and realized, "Oh crap. I didn't pay for the autograph/picture!!!" I immediately made a u-turn and walked back and talked to the guy that was assisting him, "I forgot to pay for the autograph and picture." The guy told me that was okay and there was no charge.....
I thanked the guy and walked away speechless that he didn't want to take the money. Never in a million years did I think I would get the chance being here in NC to meet William Katt after hearing he would make the Horror Movie convention rounds. I didn't even know Charlotte had one of its own. So, I had a good time.

Very Cool! Glad you had a good time. Was it a large show? When I talked with him we chatted about TGAH, but I started asking him about some of his other roles, Top Of The Hill, Baby, Secret Of The Lost Legend, etc. He told a few stories about the making of Baby, some of which he talks about on the White Ghost bonus features. Ran across this site talking about Katt and the Mad Monster event: wordofthenerdonline.com/2016/03/william-katt-mad-monster-party-2016/

It was larger than I expected it to be. A Full Ballroom for the dealers room and some guests that had their booths there (William Katt had his in there). there was a side hallway or annex that had a couple more booths, but had mostly for the other people that were scheduled photo ops. There were two or three other ballroom areas where I think they had karaoke or something going on where a guy was on stage, and a screening room. I went to the screening room to pass the last hour I was going to be there. That's the first time I've been to that one or a horror convention. Probably the last time, too. I didn't buy anything in the dealers room and only had planned to buy the photo op/autograph with William Katt and depending on the price the photo/autograph with the other wrestler. Still had a good time.

I never know if I will spend much in the dealers room. Depends on what kind of 70s or 80s TV related stuff they have, or sci-fi/horror magazines/books. Usually I'll get a couple of photo's signed if the right guests are there. Plus I like to see people walking around in costumes. Some of them are pretty fantastic. Glad you had a chance to go to one close to you. Hey, I forgot to say, I like that you have the little seen gray trim out the neck of the suit.
