Do you think Bill would have to stay an FBI agent? Do you think there is another occupation that would fit well as a partner to the suit wearer?
I think working with the FBI gave the story lines a lot more flexibility, but after watching the short-lived KEEN EDDIE, I think a large metro police force could probably run into similar situations. (Maybe not nuclear weapon storylines, but most of the local busts).
To that end, I have always stumped for Richard Dean Anderson in any reboot. As he ages though, I think Mark Valley would be a great fit for a Bill Maxwell type character. Thoughts?

If you are talking about the failed sitcom reboot, there was no Bill Maxwell in the pilot.
As far as I could tell from the character names in the casting articles.

Not specifically. I was talking any reboot, but more of a sequel than a once-off.

If they reboot it and use a Ralph and Bill, I hope Maxwell remains a FBI agent.
I have reboot nightmares about a 20 something Ralph & Bill working for some secret government agency, tracking down rogue aliens, etc A series or movie like that would lose the entire premise of what Cannell created.
I should say, if it's a non Ralph and Bill reboot, I'm open to the partner NOT being a FBI agent, but still something similar and for sure not having the two working out in the open.

Very MEN IN BLACK fears you have there, GG. I think the FBI angle worked great, so I'm okay with keeping that going. Not sure Ralph has to be a schoolteacher either.
