I can't think of any off the top of my head for males...although we could go and list all the useless females in Hollywood too.

Me either, but I thought we might not want to be discriminatory in our listing of only one gender for the bad acting category.

I spent the afternoon watching Season 5 of Seinfeld on DVD, and none other than Jesse Goins happened to pop up on the episode: "The Hamptons." He plays a cop who busts Kramer for lobster poaching.
In the "pop-up" factoids (a DVD feature), they tell us that the cop is played by Jesse D. Goins, who co-starred on the ABC superhero show - Greatest American Hero - in the 80s. I'm sure the episode will show up in syndication at some point. He's in the latter half of the episode, arriving at the door of the beach house.

Good catch. I think I remember seeing him in that episode when it first came out years ago and could not place him.

Saw him again on a random rerun of Becker, syndicated on TBS, this afternoon. He played a locksmith whom, through a comedy of errors, gets his hand smashed, and his nose broken in the doctor's office. I swear, everytime I see him on television these days, I wait for him to say, "Hey, Mister H!" Gawd, I'm such a geek

Saw that one the other day...too bad that he did not have more of a role, but then again most people would be overshadowed by Michael Richards and Jason Alexander...and even Julia Louis Dreyfuss...great actors all. Too bad he couldn't have gotten a major role...maybe if I am ever in Hollywood, I will call him up and give him his big break.

The more I watch him in GAH, the more impressed by him I am. He had a great moment of sincerity in CLASSICAL GAS, explaining how the band did not want success at the price of Pam and Ralph's relationship. He had a great moment with Ralph when he was trying to tell him that Bill was dead in THE BEAST IN THE BLACK. He even said he knew how it felt...which means that he might have a reason for being rough in life and being in that class with everyone else. Then, he had a great story about life on the docks in THE LOST DIABLO, which showed that he knew hard work...similar to Paco saying he had never been in a position. Have to admire that. Finally, the fact that he was smart enough not to hide his gold in the canteen gives him a higher IQ than most of the class. He is smart and is continuously portrayed that way, but yet, he never got the recognition for it...not even once being in the opening credits of the show...and he was present all three seasons at one point or another.

I hope one day he is cast with a guest part on an episode of My Name Is Earl. Why, you ask? Then, he'd be one actor connected to all my favorite TV shows...
GAH - Cyler Johnson Seinfeld - Cop Becker - Locksmith
With the commercial work he gets nowadays, he certainly deserves actual episodic work. Not out of the realm of possibility.

I agree. I think he was extremely overlooked on the series...especially not being in the credits second season. He was in more episodes than Tony even.

I didn't really want to read 4 pages' worth to see if this appearance by Jesse was mentioned, but I saw him recently on NYPD Blue. He was playing a security guard captain. To LOOK at him, I wouldn't have thought it was our Cyler, but the voice was sure the same. He had glasses and a 'stache, so he looked quite different (and wearing a UNIFORM of all things!)

I wonder why Jesse never got a starring role. He has been in a lot of things, but never as the main character...really not even a recurring role, which is too bad. I always thought Jesse Goins would go onto more famous roles as well. There was something electric about this actor that made you notice him, so it has always been surprising for me to see him having a career playing minor roles here and there. He's had a solid acting career I suppose by Hollywood standards, but he struck me as someone that would become much more prominent after GAH. And yes Cyler was a great character, he was clearly more level headed then anyone else, and Goins didn't play him too much as the stereotypical 70s/early 80s Black "jive street hood". In many ways Cyler was moreso the anchor of the class then Tony or Rhonda was. -scenario-

I've felt that way too, but like several of the actors on the show (even Mary Ellen Stuart from GAHeroine) he's had regular work. I haven't really seen much from some of the "Friends" cast since that show ended, same with "Seinfeld," and a few other really popular shows. Also, for some actors, they could do acting now more part time and something else they enjoy between them.
But, out of all the kids, I think we'd see him a lot more than we do. Pare and Grant are the other two who we have seen do stuff since the series. The one thing I thought was just wrong with the "GAH" credits was that they had Pare, Grant, and Cervantes' names in the opening, but not Goins'. They should've either added him into it (they could've based on the timing of the music), or just not did the kids in it at all (in actuality, I think this'd been the better option).

^That or they could have just cut Don Cervantes from the opening credits. It's one thing to have Pare and Grant in there as the "star students" but adding Cervantes in there seemed outright silly. It never seemed like Paco had anything more to do then Cyler, infact Cyler seemed like he would get more lines then Paco.
Carlilse might have gotten more screen time then Paco. And when you add Cervantes/Paco into the credits, it just BEGS the question of why Jesse Goins is not in there.

Come on now! The world could always use another CSI show, and maybe a few more Law & Orders, eh? Oh! Oh! And more reality shows!!! That's the ticket! <gag> My thoughts exactly. Actually, I hear a new Law and Order show is in the works. I think it's going to be called Law and Order:Extra Super Special Victims Unit, or something like that.

Yeah, I think Cyler was the best of the lot. It was refreshing, that he was played that way, not "typical" as some of you mentioned. How Danny Glover, who played a bit role in GAH, went on to movie stardom, but not Jesse, is beyond me. He really is a good actor. "Electric" is a great adjective for him. I think there're too many truly good actors and actresses that for some reason practically fall through the slats in the floor. I guess that's the tenuous nature of Hollywood, after all. (Not to diss Mr. Glover, of course, he's an amazing actor as well....)

He did great as Cyler and as the bad guy in the first season A-Team, but then his appearances seem to diminish and he is not around as much...but jumps around the television shows that were already mentioned and movies like WARGAMES and PATRIOT GAMES as minor characters. Sad really that his crowning achievement outside GAH might be LEVITRA.

Gotta bump my guy...
Ok guys.
Before there was Cyler... Before there was LA Freeway...
There was Rambeau.
Check out that hair.
Makes the Michael Jackson band around his head look tame... I guess back then it was...
I almost lost it when I found this. I didn't realize that he had this role - before GAH. He played one of the musicians in Space Rockers - an episode of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century.
Which we all know starred Gil Gerard - Connie Selleca's then husband.
He played a synthesizer in this space band. Which is like the keyboard he played in LA Freeway... did JG really play? Hmmmm.
Anyway, this was one of my other favorite shows growing up. Love it! Had to share.
So, who has BR on DVD and can get some Rambeau cap shot?
And where are all the screen captures of Jesse in all his more recent stuff?
Come on. Share that love....
