Not me... *sigh* My brother and I used to go a few years ago, back when it turned out that DragonCon was better than the Atlanta Fantasy Fair. Also, it's just a four hour drive from here. After just being back from our trip to Disney, I won't be able to go.

I doubt I would go...even if I had the money. The wife just isn't as thrilled with meeting some people, especially those from this show.

For the longest time it looked like I was actually getting to go, but those plans are fading away. Too bad too... I snagged a Mego-like Ralph action figure that was sold at a convention last year off of eBay which I would have had him autograph.
DragonCon is one of the biggest events of the East Coast. I've seen photos...I would actually have to drag out the Jammies if I were going to this, because according to the pictures, if you didn't wear a costume, everyone would look at you funny! I rarely see a single "civilian" in any photo album from that show.

You could have always dressed in an old suit and gone as Bill.

Yeah right...you've seen my pictures. If I tried to pass myself off as Robert Culp even in fun, there are ladies on this board who would string me up by my garbanzos! :-) Maybe, maybe not..but why take that chance???
At least with the suit I can claim to be the New Great American Hero! (Not that I would be mistaken for William Katt by any stretch of the imagination...) :-)

I'm not going to get to go, but mostly because I'm busy around here right now with work and such.

I'm not going to get to go, but mostly because I'm busy around here right now with work and such. Take a sick day. What, call in and say I have the bird flu or chicken pox? Seriously, I don't have sick leave or vacation yet, so I couldn't do that. Other factors are in play here too, so I just can't go this year. Sad thing is, this is the closest event Katt's been at where I could attend.

Your benefits package must suck if you have not earned any sick days or vacation.

You wouldn't get away with it anyway, MelMac! That event is photographed more than Lindsey Lohan....you would get busted within days once those blue million pictures start popping up all over the Internet. :-)
"Sorry boss..I was so delirious from the flu that I thought I was just hallucinating all those heroes, fairies, monsters, demons..."

Just one of those things, as not everyone can be Fiesta Texas and give you benefits within a week of employment. You wouldn't get away with it anyway, MelMac! Too funny videofox. Though I admit given what I wore in Parade at the park, I've always had a minor fear that my colleagues will find a pic of me in my outfit from there and get a chuckle out of it. But it was a fun job, and in all honesty, I needed to do it for many reasons.

hey found out some info regarding Katt at Dragon Con. (I cut and pasted the below info from the schedule/program) Looks like he is there all weekend for GAH as you can see by the schedule. Which I think I really cool!! anyway ya got two sessions which I understand are Q&A's. Then you have an Episode showing on sunday "My hero's have always been cowboys" He is not on the schedule for the walk of fame part though or autographs section from what I saw of the schedule. So a bummer there. but that might be because of the two sessions they are having. I so want to go now!!! especially the Q & A's, to bad it is to late for a fan table from the site!

Sounds like they've got a great line up Friday. I'm just getting back into watching "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century as well," I think if nothing else because I miss watching Twiki. Marc Singer also would be interesting to meet too, given shows like "V" and "Beastmaster." "V" I remembered watching parts of back when it first aired, and remember Mom telling me to close my eyes when Faye Grant's character has the alien baby. 'Course now, it's not nearly as scary, but to a 4-year-old, the alien baby was pretty creepy. (Odd thing I noticed here too: there are three people - Singer, Katt and Gerard - who have some link to GAH. Katt directly, the other two indirectly: Singer to Grant, Gerard to Connie)

Actually it wasn't Faye's character that had the alien baby, but a girl named "Robin Maxwell"! Another unintentional GAH connection! :-) The part that freaked me out as a kid was Diana's swallowing of the live mouse via jawbone dislocation.
We have a convention nearby in Knoxville, TN called AdventureCon which I hope the GAH cast might show up at. They've had some heavy hitters in the past...I've met Robert Englund and John Rhys-Davies there a couple of years ago, and Billy Dee Williams, Walter Koenig, Denise Crosby, and even Richard Kiel (Anyone remember "Hysterical"?) was there this year. I saw Gil Gerard and Erin Gray there a few years back. Erin looked good, but I swear we did not recognize Gil right away. Anyone who has seen him in the last decade knows what I'm talking about. :-)
