I didn't know about the horns till I read this; what does it do, play a song that's under someone else's copyright?
I was wondering why Ralph was patting the air, with no horn sounds coming out.

I did notice that Pam was the main driving force behind the ideas...but of course, if you watch closely, she has a lot of that in the series and then it is up to Bill and Ralph to put those ideas to use most of the time. I just presumed everyone was that vigilant towards Pam.

No, the sound missing is to the song "Shave and a Haircut, Two Bits." (Figured it out from the way Ralph was bouncing his hand.) That song is and of itself too old to have a copyright, at least that I know of, so that's not the reason for it being missing. I think someone said the sound was missing from some recordings. That's why the horn also doesn't sound all the time while the car is in motion (You can barely hear it on the DVDs).

I know...it really takes away from the episode not to know just HOW annoying it would be to have Ralph in the car.

Well that and Ralph essentially blowing up the car radio, a toaster, TV set, probably a few dozen lightbulbs in the lamp store and ultimately frying the system in Bill's car. Those are all annoying to everyone.

Yes, but he did more damage at his own house with that pile of junk at the end.

Yes, but he did more damage at his own house with that pile of junk at the end. Yep, close quarters and electricity can be a lot of fun to deal with, and will do more damage. The toaster and the TV were in Ralph's house, but I forgot there were other items. I have enough fun with static electricty in the winter, and tend to be a walking Van de Graff generator. (We had one of those in high school science class, and it was fun to see people's hair stand up. ) I haven't caused anything to burn out like Ralph did, but I have had shocks big enough to show the (small) archs and have once restarted a computer. That one confused everyone.

You are correct...I am truly confused.

You are correct...I am truly confused. OK, let me try to explain. When it gets colder, I have a tendency to store up more static electricity than normal. I'll touch something metal or someone, and give them a shock. I don't wear anything that's a regular magnet for major static electricity, such as wool, so it's kind of funny, though painful on the fingertips. Anyway, one particularly cold day I was at work and had walked around to stretch my legs out. I get back to the desk and no sooner do I touch the keyboard, I receive a small shock and the computer shuts down and restarts (fortunately I had saved my work prior to the walk.) I had this funny look on my face, and my co-workers asked what happened. I said I shocked the computer into restarting. But, at least I haven't given a customer a shock. Needless to say, when I hear Ralph say that he doesn't want to go around in life a walking Van de Graff generator, I can sympathize with that feeling.
