Owen Wilson would be good, he's the only comedic actor that is always suggested that I ever liked.
But the really interesting thing is though is that William Katt was never a comedic actor before he took GAH, I think that's why he worked so well in the part. For a movie or new GAH TV project, people nearly always pick guys that are known comedy goofballs like Adam Sandler or David Spade.

Katt worked so well, I think, cause as with his character. They both realized the obsurdity of the situation.

I like Owen Wilson, and of of the choices offered here, I would pick him, too. The only problem, is he is a Comedy Actor, and places himself is ridiculous situations all the times in movies, and shows. Ralph Hinkley seemed to be truely embarassed by wearing the suit, because it was such an odd looking thing to him. William Katt played it off so well, because I always thought he was ALSO slightly embarassed by having to wear the suit. I doubt Owen could act a real as Katt felt. Maybe he could, but like I said, Katt was not totally acting about the silliness of the suit/situations in my opinion.

I think Drake Bell would be very good in the role, if he played Pam and Ralph's son, to whom the suit was passed. He is young, but the right age to be their son. He plays reluctant comedy expertly, and has a very good dramatic side as well. He would be mortified to wear that suit.
He's a talented actor and musician, who at the moment, stars on a silly show of his own for the Nick channel.

Jonathan Jackson is a young, versatile and talented actor who would do well with the suit. Anyone who is not familiar with his work can find him in "The Deep End of the Ocean" and "The Virgin Suicides" as well as being the actor who originated the Lucky Spencer character on "General Hospital", for which he won three Emmys.

call me a nostalgic but I can't imagine anyone else other that Katt wearing that red piece of linen.. May be Dicaprio among those listed as he's quite blond and always gets large audiences but giving it to Kevin Hinkley would mean keeping alive a family business. I like this idea better.

I vote for none of the above. I think in order to capture the same magic, you'd have to get a relatively unknown actor, the same as Katt was when he came to the role. Sure, he'd done "Carrie" and I'm sure several other roles, but I just think it would be a good idea in this case. Leonardo Dicaprio? Yech!

I would like to nominate me for the next GAH. I don't have curly blonde hair but I know I could make it work. I've always wanted to play the role of the GAH. I think an unknown would be best for the role.

Are you gonna commute to L.A., or is the Next Greatest American Hero based in N.Y.?

How did you know these things about me? Anyhow, I've always wanted to be an actor and play the part of TGAH. My co-workers tell me I should be an actor too. I'd love to hook up with somebody with connections in Hollywood as I have got 2 TV shows I have created. 1 of them with a 2 hour pilot already written and plots for the first 25 episodes. As far as the commute, I'll move to sunny CA anyday with a real chance at being a TV actor! I really feel there needs to be some better programs on television. IMO, there's a lot of junk on now. Please don't attck me for that, it's just my $.02 Oh yeah, another Bill in the suit, pretty neat huh? Coincidence I guess.

Wilson plays too broadly for my tastes for this role. An unknown would be the best approach here. A Tobey McGuire type of actor is needed. Someone mentioned Topher Grace - I think that is an inspired idea! He has shown he can act in projects outside his TV series and he projects that humble and altruistic nature the Ralph role requires.

Owen Wilson has appeared in too many TV redux mobvies. They will need a new face.
