But that IS Hollywood...messing with classics that got cancelled and screwed up way before their time.

uh, i don't know about Richard Dean Anderson playing Maxwell, i mean i love Richard, but....i dunno, and the Early Edition guy?.....i don't think so, i like him i guess, but i think he'd look really stupid in the suit, (Katt looked cute somehow in that suit, even though he hated it) and i just can't see him as Ralph. I really do think also that the hairstyles and color of hair should stay the same. Part of the reason the suit works on william is because of his blonde curly hair, i think so anyway.

I agree....I don't think either actor would work for the GAH movie. I might be able to picture Owen Wilson for the role of Ralph, but I don't know, maybe it's just me but no one in my eyes could ever duplicate those characters or the chemistry they had. Call me crazy....lol

I agree that a blonde would probably look better for the part of Ralph, but I think Kyle Chandler has the right mentality to play the part. I just don't know who is blonde that could play the part well...not Owen Wilson...what a crock. The same goes for Richard Dean Anderson...he has played the same sort of character of Maxwell in his SG-1 role and I think that he would be acceptable in the part. As for Pam, any other ideas?

Maybe Lauren Graham could play Pam...she has the wit and comedic timing from the GILMORE GIRLS. She tends to play over the top, but I think she might make a good actress for Pam. What do you all think?

Lauren Graham would be great. I just can't see a remake with different actors, though. The show went with the times. It's like the Miami Vice remake movie being made. It's going to suck. Colin Farrel as Sonny Crockett. No way.

I can't see one being made either...for it or the A-Team, but I think if it is bound to happen, we should get some better suggestions out there.

Ralph - Peter Sarsgaard (Garden State, Shattered Glass)
Pam - Jennifer Connelly
Bill - Tough choice. Normally I'd say stick William Katt in there as Bill for ironic fun, but I know it probably wouldn't work. Hollywood would probably cast Tommy Lee Jones or Clint Eastwood. Having said all that...I like someone's earlier idea of putting Richard Dean Anderson in there. However, RDA doesn't have that Bill personality either. I guess the role was tailor-made for Robert Culp.
Anyway, that's my $.02

Tommy Lee Jones or RDA are the only two I'd consider acceptable to play my Bill.
William Katt (and yes, I know you were joking, about the irony), um.... no comment.

Jennifer Love might work for Pam...but I don't see Seth Green as being able to play serious or for Denis Leary to play anything but sarcastic.

I don't know who either of those two guys are, and I barely know who Hewitt is. I'm so out of touch, ain't I? I'm wondering, we have "Next GAH" and "original cast" threads going. Are these two threads talking about the same thing: a GAH movie? I'm confuzzled.

I think they are talking about the movie, yes.

After seeing Culp's commentary, and GAHeroine and the scene where Bill's freaking over a SKIRT getting the suit, I'm more convinced Richard Dean Anderson would be perfect as Bill Maxwell. I've seen RDA do little tirades like that on Stargate SG-1, and the two characters are very alike, at least in that regard. Actually, Bill and O'Neill are a lot alike in many ways, now that I think about it. But that'd be a different thread, or essay even, to think about.

I agree though that RDA would be a good Maxwell.

I say, give Jason Lee the suit. If he goes back to his Mallrats-esque roots, as a 30-something comic book shop owner. Give him the long funny speeches with a customer as he argues over some detail about a comic book plot.
Then, when he loses the instruction book, he has to rely on his comic book knowledge to try different things to learn about the suit.
He gets to wear the suit to comic book conventions and no one looks twice. That's where he hides from news reporters during one scene in the upcoming movie.

I never thought about Jason Lee. He might be okay, but I don't know if he could handle the serious side of having the suit the way Katt does.

Yeah, a couple of days later, I don't think my idea is so good. Katt was perfect.
