hi all,
i've seen a few threads across this board in relation to the 'in development' movie. i know its been discussed about what actors are suitable and i may be totally off base here but how about someone like Michael Madsen to play Maxwell.
am i losing the plot or would he seem like a good fit?

Over on the yahoo group there has been an interesting set of heated exchanges between our resident "Bad Boy" and several members (which almost make me want to make a bowl of popcorn and await the next episode!). The latest posting by "B" includes a link to an IGN.com article: movies.ign.com/articles/843/843330p1.htmlHe credited Collazo with convincing Hollywood that there was an audience for a GAH movie, but Collazo responded by saying he alone did not accomplish this, but all the thousands of GAH fans worldwide who have been pushing for a revival for years. I know this kind of story has come up before, but IGN is a pretty reliable source for news in all multimedia, so it might be worth watching. However, until I start seeing trailers and posters, I won't get my hopes up too high.

However, until I start seeing trailers and posters, I won't get my hopes up too high. I would take a grain of salt with this, even if IGN is pretty reliable. Did some research on this and there's been no news story of the endeavor on any of the main sites, nor even this particular clipping popping up. Most recent I got was that there was a movie being made in 2007 (which of course didn't happen) and last script news was a Paul Hernandez writing a script in 2002. I'm like you - I'm going to wait until we hear something from a longer and more reliable source (Variety, Cannell - as you know they'd have to have a comment from him, etc.)

Update: Reading this IGN story again, I'm not sure (admittedly doubtful) of it's veracity. Reason - it quotes a Web site as its source, which can be unreliable or false. I would wait until a Variety notice or Cannell himself (since he apparently is directing this) makes an announcement.

... or Cannell himself (since he apparently is directing this) makes an announcement. Just for clarification: Cannell may be producing this, but the director was named as Stephen Herek, from Bill & Ted. I assume by "directing" you meant that Cannell was behind it, but I wanted to correct you before HD did. I saw that article this morning in my inbox before coming here and seeing that "badboy" and videofox scooped me, but as Mel said, I'd wait for something more official than "this other website says ____". Hell, for all we know, the IGN writer may have seen the ProductionCharts site only after reading badboy's yahoo posts. The GAH community is feeding off itself and generating its own news!

You'll have to tell me what happens. I signed off that list. Too much acid...
Tired of the acid.
Share the love, guys. Share it.

Since I have to register for it and really don't have the time to where I am, this is what I would've said (and when I can register will say) there: "Everyone, take this with a grain of salt. The information and sources here first came off of ProductionCharts.com, where the supposed list of who's making it was listed. The ING site only lists the report from ProductionCharts.com in its story, and this one touts the first two.
"Web sites quotations are not accurate, and as someone said this has been rumored for years (including a site that claimed the movie was being made and released in 2007 - obviously not true now). So, until you hear it from a more valid resource (i.e. a listing in Variety or from Cannell himself - since he's the apparent producer) just take it strictly as a rumor, not statement of fact.
"I want it to come back, but I want to hear it from a more reliable site before I celebrate it. These stories - with quotations from sites that cannot have their veracity proved - are not reliable."The more that these stories pop up and only quote from the previous Web site mentioned, I would say that the probability of this being true - at least at this moment - is zero. The reliability is definitely low. As I've said elsewhere - I know of people who failed their Web based reporting story because of this type of reporting. Anyone can go online and write a story saying that something will come back - even if they have nothing to do with the endeavor and want to make a fool out of everyone. If someone wants to find out the truth - they should try the people who are supposedly involved - not do a Web search and say "Hey, this is legit" and make a story out of it.

I have a better chance of REAL aliens giving me a super powered costume, than this IGN story being real. It's fake. "Mystery of the TGAH IGN story, dot dot, solved" Real fans of TGAH will recognize where my version of the above quote originated from.

Lets play for a minute and pretend this is going to happen as reported.
Would this board go for the idea of having multiple suits around the world, or prefer the idea of Ralph being the only one?
It's a big planet. If this is a sequel, rather than a remake, it would remind me of the short-lived "Team Knight Rider" where the world's problems forced FLAG to step up from "one man can make a difference" to "actually, it's gonna take five." (Ten, if you include each of the cars!)
Would you be ok with The Greatest Russian Hero? The Greatest Muslim Hero? The Greatest Canadian Bacon? The Greatest Japanese Hero (who could probably morph into a giant robot)? The Greatest Brazilian Hero?
The list goes on...

"...Devil's Triangle, dot dot -- SOLVED!" --Bill Maxwell, "Devil in the Deep Blue Sea" Is that "real fans of TGAH", or just GAH? For some reason I feel we need to make that distinction now...

Spoilsport (that's what I was going to say but decided to be mum about it because I didn't want to be trouted...) (just kidding videofox ) But, we might have to distinguish between the two only if it gets confusing. Right now, if I see "TGAH" preceeded by Ralph, Pam or Bill, it's the original series "TGAH" with 2008 or Morgan (most of the time), it's the fan film series going on. Just my two cents.
