No GREATEST AMERICAN DEATHMATCH? Not this time I'm affraid lol. We had our meeting today and everything went as planned...which was new for us lol. That's good on many levels JD. And, I plumb forgot about "Celebrity Death Match." Those were way too silly. (Plus, we already have a great parody in the "Robot Chicken" stop animation short).

Sorry It's been a while since I've posted anything. My PC got ate up by a virus, and it's still a little slow...good thing I was planning to buy another one for editing anyway lol.
The movie is still going, but we're actually reworking the script a bit...adding some more depth to the bad guy, and putting in some more humor. The way this script keeps developing, we'll be working on it for a while.
To be honest, I'm kind of torn about something and wanted to bring it to everyone's attention. The more we play with this script, the more I love it. I think it has a lot of potential and I want to do it justice. That's why I'm starting to consider putting it through the proper steps...so that it can be made and put on the big screen!
It's just an idea right now, but one that I'm really psyched about. I know you guys and gals haven't seen the script...but I would love to know what you think about us stopping the "fan film" and turning it into a feature.
In the mean time, we are also putting together a short film from a short story I wrote...and will be showing it at a local film festival in Birmingham Alabama, next year some time. I don't want to let anyone down by stopping the fan film, since you all have been so supportive...but I don't want to sell the script short either.

Good luck on that. I have been working on script ideas and such for quite some time with no luck. It is hard to get an agent while in movie land, but harder from outside the area. If you think the script is that good and will sell, work hard to get an agent that will help you get the recognition you need. Even then, it is not a done deal. Mortimer West, a member here, is a writer and his did not go. *Shrugs* Roll of the dice, but good luck.

The main thing is that you have been OPEN about your project here. Even for it being a fan film... Others could learn a thing or two from you about that. As for possibly halting the fan film for greater possibilities. I say go for it. If you think it's good enough, put it out there. A decent fan film would be nice, but something being made official and having a chance to be put on the big screen is even better. Shoot for the stars but stay grounded, because who knows what type of scripts Hollywood is looking for now. You don't know till you give it a try, so take those first three steps!

I agree with Claye. Another thing. You might keep working on graphics and such while shopping around because if it gets rejected, you can still fan film it.

Thank you very much for the kind words. Yeah I know what hollywood is looking for...that's the only part that has me worried lol. Again it's just an idea for now, either way (fan film or not) it will get made and will be made available for everyone here. My main concern is making it worth watching and original enough to stand on it's own. HD is right too...will still be working on the special effects and story in the mean time. Got to be prepared in case the right people come across my path.

If you do sell it, don't forget to be part of the casting and hire me.

I think you should at least try, because you'll kick yourself in the butt more if you don't try and then someone comes out and produces one that is along the lines of what we're hearing as rumors right now. :-\ And, either way it's a win-win, so I wish you the best.
