Plus the fight scene: mid-80s Cannell-violence, set to a rousing Mike Post score.

That training sequence on the football field may be hands-down the single most lame ass scene in the entire G.A.H. world. Someone should be slapped for that... hard.

I liked the flashack recollection of the old series as Bill recounts how it all got started. I also liked the "Heros are human" musical part where they showed clips from the original show. It was also kind of cool to see Ralph with a more modern hairdo and the new suit. I liked the episode up until Ralph and Pam left and it got lame. It was defiently low budget and not much of a Pilot.

What I liked about the Greatest American Heroine was the flashback scene. Since I hadn't seen the show since its original run, it allowed me a chance to see some highlights of seasons 2 and 3.
Oh, I also liked all three of the original leads having a chance to say goodbye. Once Ralph and Pam leave, Maxwell's reactions in the rest make it worth watching, even though it's silly.

Mary Ellen Stuart looked pretty hot in the red jammies, but she was too annoying. There was the feeling of closure you get when watching a series finale.

It did not suck because we got to see THREE green guys...the dudes are multiplying somehow. Of course, a hot woman in skin-tight outfits is a plus. Naturally, Bill Maxwell ending the show with "End of Report."

It did not suck because I liked how they built on the idea to change genders, which would make it harder on Bill. They also brought in the idea of Sam Bryce from the IT'S ALL DOWNHILL FROM HERE episode because she is the do-gooder against the establishment where Bill is the big, bad G-Man. They put that into Holly and the little girl. Plus, I always hated how they wrote Kevin out of the script, so by making her the partner, she gets to stay. Also, there is all this potential now for Holly to meet a man and have to keep it secret...more comedy I suppose, but the potential for a great show was there, especially if Ralph and Pam were brought back in somehow.

Another thing that I found better was that the suit was given away to someone and we got to see how hard the process must be for the green guys. How do you interview all those people? You don't, you just know. A lot of people say that Pam should have gotten it (and I don't disagree), but how would that make the world forget about Ralph? The two are connected. I think that by having to give it away...it would work so much better...although I think they should still see Bill and everything. Five years of friendship down the drain, huh?

I hope I don't get flamed for this...
BUT I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!
I loved just about everything about it. I loved how Ralph's character changed over the years since the series finale, I loved how he reacted when he realized he was going to lose this suit he supposedly hated the whole time. I loved that they let him, Pam and Bill remember.
I liked Holly as a counterpart to Bill: let's face it, she was his worst nightmare. He thought RALPH was a touchy-feely do-gooder tree-huggin' hippie-type, then Holly comes along. I loved it! And when she said, Oh, I'm ALWAYS in a good mood, I said right when Bill reacted to that (exactly as I expected him to) "Oh, kill me now, PLEASE!"
I loved how Bill was getting decidedly uncomfortable when Holly came out in her little half-tee and shorts, her tummy showing, lol, that was great. I loved the whole basis of the show, Bill narrating into a tape recorder.
I was trying to be objective and not insert stuff that wasn't there, but I couldn't help but think a few times there was some UST between the two... maybe that's kinda wrong to think, seeing as he could be her grandfather (probably... maybe she's not as young as I originally thought, being a foster mom and all)... then look how she plasters herself all over him a couple times.
I love Bill's comment in New-Found-Land (and how he said that) about "the superpower to the south," I laughed my bum off at that.
I laughed through a LOT of this show.
The only thing I hated: it ended WAAAYYYYYY too soon!! Granted, it was for a pilot that never picked up (although I don't know why).
Good thing about how it ended though: LOTS of fodder for fanfic! (hey, that was rather alliterative of me, wasn't it?)
As others have said, I don't know why they were making it seem like a permanent goodbye for Ralph and Bill. Weren't they best friends by then? Of course, I know William Katt wasn't going to be a regular, so they had to make a clean break and all. Maybe they should've had the Hinkleys moving to the east coast or something, emphasizing the fact that this is REALLY goodbye.
I cried on that part, esp when Bill turns away from the two and Pam goes, "Aw, Bill..." I think that was a really good and touching scene.
I loved the ending (well, not knowing it was the end) when Holly is telling Sarah about the suit and Bill being a good guy under that grumpy exterior. I loved the conversation between Bill and Sarah, that was good, esp when Sarah asks, Am I bothering you with these questions? And I said YES at the same time Bill says, "Yeah." That's cool that he's honest with the kid.
So, all-in-all, I really loved it. In case I hadn't made that obvious.
OK, I don't care if I get flamed. Do your worst. A whole new realm of fanfics just opened up to me, wh00t!!

I think they left too many loose ends, like what happens to the Hinkleys and it was just so anti-climatic really...even compared to episodes like DESPERADO. It just did not have the same zeal as the original series. I agree that it had good points and it had potential, but I don't know that I would put it in the LOVED category.

A lot of people say that Pam should have gotten it (and I don't disagree)... But remember, Connie Sellecca was just as unavailable as William Katt at that time. He was co-starring in the "Perry Mason" TV movies and she was co-starring on "Hotel". The original hope was to bring back the series with the three originals, just two of them weren't available.

The way I have heard it is that Connie and Culp were both willing to give it a go, but that Katt hated the suit enough to not want to come back and do it. You are probably right, J-Man, that Connie was too busy as well, but I have always heard that she was on board.

Greatest American Heroine Scenario:
Pam dumps Ralph forcing Ralph to dump the suit. Pam finds comfort in the arms of...who else? Maxwell. Pam & Bill become an item and Holly gets jealous of the third string backup. Bill gets kidnapped by Al Queda, forcing Pam and Holly to cooperate. Meanwhile, an emotionally distraught Holly and an equally emotionally distraught Ralph hook up and become an item. An awkward trio of Ralph, Pam & Holly attempt to rescue Bill, who has been brainwashed by his captors. He remembers nothing. Our foursome drives into the sunset in Pam's VW convertible.
A short synopsis, but I think you ge tthe point.

Hell, it probably would have made it off the ground if they had tried Ralph, Bill and HOLLY. I mean, if they absolutely INSISTED on using that lame ass character and Connie wasn't available, I would have 'tolerated' that dumb broad if I was able to get my 'hero' and his ultra cool fed partner back (as long as Holly was playing the sidekick role, that is).

Holly looked more like a hooker than a heroine.
