I have been an Alyssa fan since the 80's. I would only pick her if she grew her hair out. I never liked her short hair cut.

You gotta have a woman who can fight convincingly. Garner & Alba certainly can from your list, but I would have to go with Charisma Carpenter. She looks good in red. ;D

Natalie Portman, Jennifer Garner or Lindsay Lohan would all work really well. Jennifer Garner is the perfect age for such a role right now, but by the time they would ever get such a project ready, she could be over 35 and too old. On the other hand Lindsay Lohan is just a teenage kid and may be a bit too young at only 18 years of age, my God she wasn't even alive for GAH's 1981-'83 run.
But these three young women are great because they are really good looking, but not insanely drop dead gorgeous. Jessica Simpson is just too gorgeous for a GAHeroine role.
Lohan and Portman especially have a vulnerable side to them, and they look like they would have the wit to understand being in absurd situations.

Watch how you throw around too old in here young man....lol ;D Seriously, you do have a point. Because of stupidity Hollywood seems to throw out woman (except for a few lucky ones) after they reach a certain age. I would take the Connie Sellecca's of the world over the Jessica Simpson's any day.

If they went with a mostly comedic/ part drama story Lindsay would be the best. She understands timing and is passable in drama. Plus by the time the started filming she would be about 21. Closer to original GAHeroines age.
Tommy Lee Jones could be her Bill Maxwell type.

Jessica Simpson is very *friendly* personty gorgeous. She is great looking that very *friendly* personty, "I work at Hooters" way. It's funny to joke about a stripper GAHeroine, but we don't need a very *friendly* person chick for the GAH franchise.

EDIT: Haha, "friendly" is not what I typed. I typed in "sl*tty", but the ol' vulgar settings came in.

I think if the Greatest American Heroine were to come to the fore again, it should be played by someone who has traits of both Pam AND Holly in their other movies. I think Anne Hathaway would be great...she looks good and she might be able to kick some keyster...I don't know how she looks in red...but I would not mind finding out.

I think that if the show were reprised now that they might force a minority...or a minority woman into the part. That might change the list quite a bit. Any good ideas?

Good idea...and I guess Alba would work too now that I reread the list. I just think they would try to stick someone like Beyonce in it if it was HEROINE or some unknown in the HERO like they did the young Superman.

I think Sarah Michelle is a horrible actress...she can ruin any part she touches...which would make her perfect for HEROINE...Holly of the new generation.

I loved her as Buffy. She was awsome! Her other stuff, well I am a scooby fan but other than that I don't think I've seen her in anything else. But I hated Heroine anyway.

I've only seen a few episodes of Buffy, but she seemed decent. Nothing too special, but 'good enough' for the part. I also thought she did a decent job playing a mega-biotch in Cruel Intentions.
