Among a few things - the biggest flaw I find is in making the world forget. Can the greenguys also get rid of every newspaper, TV news reports, tv talk shows, SNL or anything tangible that Ralph was featured in?

Besides, if they could make the world forget, why pass on the suit? They could have just made sure Ralph learned his lesson, like a vision of his future without the suit.

It does make the Greenguys way too God-like, having them have such a fantastic world altering power.

Yeah, like why would they even NEED someone in a suit if they could do all of that.
I mean, I'm kind of so-so on this episode. I find it very sad the scene where they all say goodbye. And I also felt really, really sorry for Ralph having to lose the suit.
Of course, Katt was probaby thinking (Thank GOD, no more suit)
But Ralph, Pam and Bill still remember, so it's not like they can't get together for lunch or dinner or something once a week.
When I got a copy of this from someone, it was when they wer already on the ship, so I never saw the stuff before that. The episode was great right up to the scene where they say goodbye.

Yeah, like why would they even NEED someone in a suit if they could do all of that. That's true. I don't know why t.v. networks always think they have to make cast changes to keep something alive. It always ruins a show. I can't think of one that was nearly as successful after they changed the main stars. I think what happens is, they lose their original vision. They should try to go back to that instead of changing the people.

Remeber what Cannell said in his interview - the show was supposed to be about normal situations and Ralph with the suit. But the network wanted a monster of the week type show for the 2nd season. I feel the 3rd season got back to the character driven stories.

Yes, well I think that's right. The monsters were silly. Maxwell chasing "commies" was much better.

Yeah, The Shock Will Kill You is my vote for the all time worst episode. Only thing that saved it for me is the interaction between Ralph, Bill and Pam.
This was NOT what the show was about, which in turn sounds funny considering the series WAS about a guy given a super-powered costume by aliens from another world.

Yes I did get that whole thing either about the greenguys making everyone forget by giving the suit to someone else.I agree with thatgirl. They should have just give him a scare about his future without the suit.

No way! You MUST be joking! Shock Will Kill You the all-time worst? How could you say that? How COULD you?! Seriously, dude, I AM surprised you feel that way. The effects blew (well, they were non-existent) but I thought the script was funny as hell - love the scene in the beginning when Bill and Pam are blowing Ralph off when he's asking them how he's gonna save the shuttle, or when they're in the car (pick a time) or at the motel and they have to eat with their hands because of Ralph. How about: "You see I figure with the wheels up and me underneath it, I have a good chance of winding up like road pizza." or "Oh, I'd be afraid I'd cook a train or something". Or the car going crazy every time Ralph gets near it... Love it... and I thought some of those later 3rd season episodes (like Thirty Seconds Over Little Tokyo... ick) were far worse. Just my $0.02. -Frank

All the episodes have some scenes that are great.
SOME episode has to be ranked last.

greenguy, I gotta go with Frank. I don't consider "The Shock Will Kill You" to be the all time worst episode. Sure it deviated from what the show was about, and it had plenty of silly, bad moments. And yes this was not what the series was about at all. But I thought it was bad in a good way. Like a nice B-movie episode from the '50s. It had a lot of funny moments, and I dug how Ralph was magnitized.
To me the all time worst episode will always be "Thirty Seconds Over Little Tokyo", followed very closely by "Wizards and Warlocks", and "It's Only Rock and Roll". I don't mind a 1950's or X-Files like B-movie type episode thrown in there if it's done right. TSHKY was not perfect, but it wasn't terrible IMHO. Even if it wasn't done on purpose, we can at least pretend like it was. I can't say the same for those last few 3rd season stinkers.
"The Shock Will Kill You" is at least watchable and fun enough.

Well I am going to get wacked in the nutts for this but BEAST IN THE DARKNESS was my least favorite.
But the aliens making the whole world forget was just silly. Like said earlier. With that much power why would they even need Ralph.
Proving again, GAHEROINE was a bad dream. It never happened.

^You mean "The Beast in the Black". I don't think anyone will understand that pick. Upon further review, I think I will revise my statement and say that "Wizards and Warlocks" is probably the worst GAH episode. When you have "It's Only Rock and Roll" and "Thirty Seconds Over Little Tokyo" competing for that spot, it's a tough call. But TSOLT may be an episode that is so terrible, it's actually good. I can sit there and make jokes about it like Mystery Science Theater. But GAH having ninjas and a stupid laser gun seemed like a plot that came straight off of a Knight Rider episode. -scenario-

Yeah thats the one! I am terrible with remembering the names of the eps. I still remember watching them with the titles cut out. So the whole series is one BIG ep to me ;D Ignorance is bliss

Wow. Beast In The Black your LEAST favorite? Yeah, that one I don't get at all, as it's in my top 3, and it scared the living hell out of me when I was a kid (and I still think it's pretty spooky to this day). That is one I will LOOOOOOVE to have on DVD. Nice, clear picture, better sound and we don't have to worry about any music being changed. Whoo-hoo!

Hey, I think it's very interesting that it's your least favorite! In fact, I just added a 'WORST Episodes' thread in the "The TV Show (1981-83)" area for everyone to pick the ones they didn't like. I'm curious to see what comes up.

What I don't get in "Heroine" is—why didn't Ralph use his power of invisibility when he rescued that girl? Didn't it occur to him that that crowd of people who were standing around outside the building would notice a man in tights and a cape using super powers in front of them in broad daylight? Hello?

He never seems to use that power in broad daylight. There are several times he is seen or like CAPTAIN BELLYBUSTER where he is pictured because he forgets to use it.
Personally, I have always thought the greenguys meant that the world would forget after a while if Ralph no longer had the suit. Not that the world would forget by some magic power, but that they would forget over time...sort of a throwback to the final scene in 200 MPH FASTBALL.
I think they made the suit handover happen because after all this time Ralph should NOT have been so careless. They had given him several chances in the past, but after five years, he should learn to be more careful.
