I wasn't sure if the cartoon was called Beatles or stg else. BEATLES?! Hey, don't you know the Stephen J. Cannell rules?? No Beatles on G.A.H. (not anymore anyway)! Oh wait, you don't mean the music. Nevermind... [children don't read]with all those legal expenses he's facing, Jacko would be forced to consider even Cannell's ridiculous offers for licences.

I'm always curious to find out what an actor/ress does for a living when not successful with his/her career or for some reasons quits. I wander what is Don Cervantes doing.. i grew up in LA and new and met alot of child stars. my first shock was when i found out tina yothers (i went to school with her brother from DREASCAPE) from family ties was working as desk clerk at a car rental company. [/quote Last I heard Ms. Yothers was performing in a rock band. She had dyed her hair black and slimmed down a bit.

Just saw her on that Rooms to Go ad that Miss D had been talking about. They even called her Mary. Noticed it was her because of her smile. Have to admit, looks good for her age too, but she had to have been in her early to mid-20s when they made GAHeroine. IMO, still doesn't do well acting.

I haven't seen that advertisement. Is it a national commerical or just in major areas with a certain chain?

It's regional, so probably southeast USA. As I said, in her case it was her smile, otherwise I'd probably had not recognized her. Jessie Goins with the Levitra commercial... you can tell in both his voice, eyes and smile.

Not me (don't have the capabilities), and I've only seen it the one time... and late at night. Rooms to Go seems to only be able to advertise late (10-graveyard) around here, so I have my wonders if it's not doing that well, at least in Texas. Later the night (save primetime), the cheaper the price of ads.

It's too bad commercials aren't listed...she could have more claims to fame than she does.

IMDB has her listed as helping her husband at Wheaton College in Illinois. I may have to drop in and say HI. Of course, Wheaton College does not recognize her help in any way...maybe she doesn't really exist.

"...maybe she doesn't really exist. Well, Holly Hathaway never met Mike Douglas. Dude, that would be so cool if you could meet her. I went to see "Jerome Robbins' Broadway" when she was supposed to be in it in 1989 (college trip), and I was soooo looking forward to getting her autograph at the stage door after the show. Unfortunately, she was either out sick or had just left the show (because her name and picture were still in the Playbill and program). I was really bummed. This would've been a chance to meet The Greatest American Heroine at a time before I had met almost anybody else (met Christopher Reeve when he did "Fifth of July" on Broadway; boy, sure wish I hadn't lost that autographed Playbill). www.ibdb.com/person.asp?ID=80813

Update. I just checked. I still have the souveneir program from "Jerrome Robbins' Broadway" and there are a couple of pretty decent pictures of Ms. Stuart. If I get a chance to visit a friend with a scanner in the next day or two, I'll get the pics up here.

If not, I will try again in November when I am back up that way for a week.

.It says she was also in a couple of soaps guiding light and as the world turns. And she was also in a chours line not sure what shes doing now ;D OK, I was interested in finding some of Mary Ellen Stuart's other work, and happened upon these clips of her in "As the World Turns" on YouTube (parts 1-3 in order top to bottom): Have to admit she's a decent actress and I agree with a poster on the vids - a good one for soaps. She doesn't look like she did in '86, but it's her (voice gives it away). But that said, I still think she was a poor choice for Holly. IMHO she might've been a better dramatic actress than comedic, as evidenced here. Also, I've always felt her more serious scenes in "GAHeroine" were more believable than any she did wearing the suit.

I only watched half of the last YouTube video, and boy, that brought back to me why I never liked Soap Operas! They are SO overly melodramatic. But, yes, Mary Ellen did a very good job, no doubt about it.
I agree here with Mel that it seems her gifts seem to be in straight drama. Too bad TGAHeroine went for typical ridiculous 80s stereotypes, had a ridiculous reason Ralph lost the suit, had the GG not respect Bill that much, and so forth. Odd how they got pretty much EVERYTHING wrong--if it had been done differently, including more drama than absurdist comedy, Mary Ellen may well have been a good leading lady.

She may have been, but at the same time I felt that the teamship didn't work as well. It was missing that "opposites, but the same" vibe that made Ralph and Bill work - one reason I have always felt this might've worked had it been a whole new team too. But, I think overall it was a good thing because it meant that Ralph, Bill, and Pam's good history in helping others isn't besmirched in such a silly way. (And, I wish we had the full script to see why the green guys were so adamant about wiping Bill's memory. It didn't make sense to me.)

Wasn't Mary Ellen Stuart in "Seventh Heaven" too? I do not know - only things on YouTube are the "GAHeroine" attempt, the three clips above, and a couple of minor stage performances that may or may not be here. I'll keep an eye out though. The only "GAH" actor I do know that was in "Seventh Heaven' was William Katt in the episode "It's all about George."
