I was at tvparty.com, and was reading a rather spurious interview between Hicks (?) and Cannell.
Here's one portion; based on some glaring inaccuracies in this alleged interview, I don't know the accuracy of it, but thought it interesting:
Hicks: Greatest American Heroine was on very briefly.
Cannell: Yeah. We only made a pilot. We didn't sell it.
Hicks: Why did you decide to revisit the character as a woman?
Cannell: It was actually Robert Culp who wanted to do that and he came to me with that idea and wanted to do it. I said OK, so we did it.
======================
The reasons I say this interview may or may not be valid, or else SJC doesn't remember GAH very well (quoted passages are what Cannell supposedly said to the interviewer):
"The whole thing was a rip on hypochondria and the reason it was nominated for an Emmy the first season, not in drama but in comedy, because that's all we were doing."
The referenced episode, "Plague," was Second Season.
"I remember a script called the Best Death Scenario."
It was called "Best DESK Scenario."
"They move him (Maxwell) off the agent floor. He's now got a cubicle in the basement."
No, he doesn't. He makes a JOKE about the next move would be getting sent to the basement and he could play with his velcro. He wasn't actually moved there.

Geesh. Hard to tell if the interviewer just wasn't paying attention, or if Cannell is "losing it".

This is the reply I received from the website:
Thanks so much for the corrections, Helen – I really appreciate it – I’ll make the changes. Have a great day!
Billy Ingram
Not bad, since I only emailed the site last night. Cool, huh?

That's cool!!! I also wrote to them about those corrections myself about 6 months ago but never got a response. Guess my email must have got lost in the shuffle. Way to go! I hope they make the changes!

Here's an alternate version they should put online: ---------------------------------------------------------------- Hicks: So why did you change the music on the DVDs? Cannell: Because I'm a cheap bastard. Deal with it. Hicks: But don't you think that will irriate long time fans of the show? Cannell: Ah, they'll still buy it, so what do I care? Every penny counts, my friend. ---------------------------------------------------------------- (the above post is intended as a joke)

If you watch the interview of Robert Culp on the DVD first season, he says that it was his idea to have a girl be the next one to wear the jammies.

Although the songs being changed bites, I'm still looking forward to it, if for no other reason than Culp's commentary. From listening to his chattering on the "I Spy" DVDs (I estimate about 7 hours' worth all told,) that man's got a memory like a steel trap, the DETAIL he remembers! Hoping to hear something similar for GAH.

His and Connie's tie for the best interviews done over the three DVD set.

Well...I'd say they tie for second best.

Yes, but even Tony's interview was only good BECAUSE of Connie Sellecca leading him on in the questions.

To quote a great philosopher of this board, "...each person has a different perception or awareness of how they fit into the world, so I guess you can feel that way if you want too."

Of course, I am right again, since I am the philosopher. It's nice to be able to be both right and wrong sometimes.

I wonder what the actors think about the music being changed...or if they even know...maybe no one tells them at the conventions.

I'm sure they don't give two you-know-whats.
At least "We're Opposites" is intact.
