So how many characters could I have for a new rank? Is that limited? Was 5000 the wrong guess too? 1) Special ranks are awarded at the disgression of the moderators, just so you understand. 2) Suggestions for new ranking names (for yourself or overall) should be a reasonable length. I don't think we'll be adding "Junior Assistant Special Regional Prosecutor of the County of Los Angeles, CA" 3) 5000 is too high. 999 is still too low. And since you may *reach* the right number before guessing while playing the higher/lower game, that's my final hint

Oh...I guess I can wait and see what the new star is. As for the special ranks, that is why I asked how many I COULD have...because I knew it might not be granted. Do I have to get all three of you to agree or is it majority rules or what? I was not thinking that long of a title, but something longer than yours possibly.

May be wrong, but then again, guessing is fun. As far as a fifth star ranking, I don't know of one that would be between the two rankings of Superhero and Greenguy, maybe "Little alien"? By that I mean the little guy who takes the translators from the Green Guy and gives them to Bill and Ralph in "Divorce, Venusian Style," and "Vanity, Says the Preacher." He's important, but not as important as the Green guys. He seems to be the one who does the manual work on the ship (at least in the stories). And it keeps from infringing on greenguy's name.

I think the 'Special Ed Student' idea rocks. Screw being politicially correct, I say... Bill would never.

I concur...I really like that idea for the non-posting members.

I have just submitted a new idea via email. I think this one would uphold the integrity of the board and suit me better.

That little guy *was* the original intent behind "little greenguy" in the original suggestions in this thread. I guess I wasn't clear enough (He is green, too, after all, just a much darker green) Hmm, darker than the other aliens, and doing all the manual labor on the ship. No wonder my black friend doesn't like this show....

Funny. I had never thought of it like that. No wonder SJC never wrote a race episode for this particular series.

Always liked him, you could figure out his emotions through the trills he gave out. Wonder what he thought though.

Jeesh, enough with the love fest Unfortunately, scenario, I can't add an extra class, the number is hard-wired into the board, but I could make the Junior Member a little easier. Those numbers are the board's default, but I figured since we will all be around a while, eventually the regulars will get their deserved status. It also encouraged people to post a little more to get their "gold stars," as it were. The names have now changed. You'll just have to post a little more to find out what they are... :-) AWESOME JOB!! Thanks for listening and using some ideas!! Once again your ideas are an improvement over what I had in mind. Getting moved up to Counselor after 25 posts is cool IMO. Ofcourse the regulars like myself will stick around for a billion posts. But I think rewarding the newbies with a bump up in rank after 25 posts will encourage them to stick around a bit longer. -scenario- Greenguy, MyTatuo, fellow board members. We no longer have to worry that GAH may peter out over the years. Members may come and go, but THIS forum will remain constant in one regard. It will have AT LEAST one member for years to come. Scenario will be here until he reaches his billionth post. I guess you are going to HAVE to rehash some things to get there. And since he is a QUALITY member, MOST of it will NOT be fluff. I think we should all salute scenario for his courageous wording and his devout nature towards this board. HIP...HIP...HOORAY!!! ;D

Uh... HD, chiding Scenario won't do good. He comes and goes just like all of us. (and no... I don't know how many posts will reach you to the next level... though 1 billion would work. Hey if it works for McDonald's... )

Hey if it works for McDonald's... ) I'm not chiding him...I am commending him. For someone SO literal, you think you would have noticed the distinction. Geesh. I have read this thread before and never realized that some members will ALWAYS be around. I figure there will be a time when I have wandered off to other frontiers, forsaking this one...and yet, Scenario will stay at least until 1 billion posts. I thought after reading a comment of his about having nothing new to say or the idea of "we've covered that", that he might not be around as much. I know better now. Whenever the GAH board is in trouble...when interest has ebbed, Scenario will be there to right the wrongs and rekindle the desire for one of the greatest shows of all-time: THE GREATEST AMERICAN HERO!!!!!!!!!!!*GREATEST AMERICAN HEROINE MAY NOT BE INCLUDED...SEE SCENARIO FOR DETAILS**

OK... I erred so there. (and no, "GAHeroine" isn't included. It's a bad dream that can be used as cannon fodder. Like the idea, hated the execution. ) And... I think you're being literal. Unfortunately, Houdinideranecdote doesn't quite work as well. BTW, I'm surprised you haven't asked about the next level in rankings. Then again, that's top secret, and only the shadow knows (the one in disguise, the Green Hornet, the one sewn to my feet though... I don't know. )

I don't know about other rankings, but HD and I when we got our fifth-stars (gold in my case), we got names based on character roles in the game "Wizards and Warlocks." I had several to choose from... including deceitful troll... before I settled on two choices: Keeper of the clock and the one that I have. IT was fun to choose though... even with I think one being "Half a graham cracker." Maybe 'Half a graham cracker' could be the no posts rank.

I would like to make a landmark post for it, you know.

Could be today, tomorrow, or knowing how many posts you make, soon. I'd just say to not get too many ideas piqued at the number, or they could be randomized worse than the Tardis' machine.

Yeah, don't know what a Tardis' machine is...and I am probably a better human being for NOT knowing. I know the number can be changed...I do it a lot on the Pam forum. I just like to try and have meaningful advances...kind of like my 5,000th post...even though that was not an increase in rank.
