Clever. That would be a great idea. Good thinking, MelMac.

Thanks. Now I wonder, if I'm right (and they don't have to tell me if I am or not, as that's need to wait and see. ), am I a good agent or on the verge of becoming a rookie superhero wearing the jammies? (ETA, HD, you might want to check the tickertape on the main page for an announcement. )

Thanks, MelMac and moderators. I appreciate the support and good-natured ribbing.

I noticed the ticker stated that I could be the first one to gain a fifth star by the end of the month. This would presume that the threshold is around 1500 since I get roughly 500 posts a month...a little under. I still like MelMac's idea...1981...great concept.

Yes, it is. And, how 'bout this: after you reach 1983, you get kicked off the board, ABC-style!!!
(those bastards...)

You probably wouldn't lose that many members....just me I imagine. Maybe some more in a few years. I guess I could always get a leeway of three posts before you let me on again, realized that I suck, and canned me the way they did Holly.

houdiniderek, try as you may, I don't think you (or anyone else) could EVER be as lame as Holly.

Yes, it is. And, how 'bout this: after you reach 1983, you get kicked off the board, ABC-style!!! (those bastards...) Very funny. I just decided to take a wild guess, and I thought this was an interesting idea. Kinda like on one site devoted to "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy," where you get promoted after reaching 42 posts (from frood to hoopy frood, but that's it). But, I think it'll be interesting to see what the magic number is anyway. Makes it worth the wait.

LOL, so many incredibly funny choices, but I had to go with pretty-boy Palmer.

Hey, once you're a hoopy frood, you have ARRIVED baby!

Yep, I've read those boards, (and you can't get any hoopier than hoopy frood ) but never joined (didn't know much about the story at the time to do so). It got me interested enough that I did a juggling to "Journey of the Sorceror" for a talent show. I dressed up in a variation of Ford's outfit and even had my towel (well three, I juggled them), so who knows? But, back on topic, now I'm a superhero myself, so I guess I can wait and see what'll happen when someone gets to the fifth-star mark. It'll be cool, whatever it is.

Congrats on superherodom, MelMac. Sorry I missed it. Thanks, HD. And yes, the 500th post was my move. Took all I had to hold off on posting before I had it done.

Well, I am glad to see we both can hold back when necessary...you had a goal that you KNEW at least.

Well, I am glad to see we both can hold back when necessary...you had a goal that you KNEW at least. Yeah, I wanted it to be pretty special, and the move was a pretty good one. I think my bump to Counselor was a silly post, but the Agent one was actually pretty good (though I don't remember which one it was, I think it was a caption.)

I have no idea on mine...Counselor and Agent weren't far apart for me, so it might have been a posting frenzy that did it for me. Of course, I did not know the ranks or stars necessary at the time, so mine might have been horrid too.

Come to think about it, I think I had an off-beat comment when I was promoted to Counselor. You know, one of those that don't make any sense, i.e. like my overlooking Pam calling herself Counselor in the Captions thread yesterday or some mixed up metaphor. Figures, huh?

I hadn't even noticed when I (temporarily) moved to superhero status, till HD pointed it out. I promptly went to the Supreme Being and asked if I could be a superagent. I mean, why on earth would BILLSwoman want to be a superhero, after all? I'm a superagent like my man Maxwell (Looking around) Okay, where are those tithings to the Supreme Being??

When I saw your rank change to Super Agent, I thought that was cool, and I laughed when HD's changed to its current one (I also like the one he suggested for the fifth star, and hope he gets it.) Me, I'm going to keep mine Superhero, as Ralph's my favorite character.

Are you sure you can keep yours as Superhero? All special requests have to go through the moderators, you know.
