So much for visiting the site from work: I could understand if it was the ScenarioSlash board, or even the FFForum because of the 18+ section. But THIS board? Come on... I blame Jo. Here's what Maddox had to say (edited to remove the naughty words): Good job, Websense. Lazy soccer moms... everywhere salute you. Some of the other categories that Websense can block are: health sites, search engines, news sites, and even educational institutions. Keep up the great work, you fascist .Apparently, Maddox's site gets blocked with the category "Tasteless." At least this illustrious board got it for "Sex," not being "Tasteless." He decided he'd block Websense, so employees of that fascist organization are unable to visit his site. That is, assuming their employer lets them go anywhere that isn't 100% approved by their rather spurious determination of what's acceptable and what is not.

Sex is filtered?
I prefer mine French Pressed....
Ok, Billswoman, coming from the land of 1,001 coffeeshops, may get that one.

Nice. And I thought BW was trying to quit.

Nice. And I thought BW was trying to quit. Apparently all the caffeine makes her nervous.
I personally thought it was the webcams.

And we wonder why Websense filtered the board...

By the way, not only did they block my way of getting past Websence (which was attaching to a computer outside of work, which had no such restriction), they also jacked up the monitoring on my computer, so I can't go ANYWHERE. I can't go on Google, find the current weather, find a place to go for lunch; I can't even check my personal emails. I had to send a message to my friends today telling them I can't check my email more than once a week any more, don't bother to send me anything. It's like the dark ages.
I told them I would let them know when they should stop calling my cell phone too; you know, when my office decides I should leave it at the front desk...

You're right, I do; I use a French Press every morning (it IS the preferred method of brewing, after all, per Starbucks.)

While I understand keeping down the amount of surfing at work, not being able to check personal e-mails once in a while is not the best idea IMHO. Do they really want you to have to read that someone's ill in your family through the company e-mail?

Do they not let you check any e-mail?
Man... I know the economy stinks, but honestly, when April rolls around, instead of worrying about visiting us, you may want to visit Monster.com

It sounds like they are going to be checking your fingerprints every day too just to make sure you didn't try slip in a sub. Or request a blood sample or eye scan to make sure you're you. Sometimes I think people can be a tad too literal... even over some people here. Not being able to read personal e-mails, at least from family in case of an emergency (don't balk here, I've had it happen one time), is a bit too harsh IMHO.

The problem is that how do you know it's an emergency e-mail until you open it?
It could be the newest round of "King Fahad wants to transfer $1,000,000 to your bank account" e-mails[/tt]

Speaking of these e-mails... I seem to get one for replica watches. Yes, I like to collect watches and registered online with Fossil, but this is ridiculous.
What is more so... blocking e-mails regardless and even denying ordering lunch online. I could go on about diet and work in the negative way, but it's another story and one I don't want to say.

Would you believe at work, they don't want us going to sites that require a login ID and password? So I may not be malingering on here much during the day any more (Or a lot of sites I go to, actually). Thank goodness my science geek sites don't require login. I'd die if I couldn't check the weather every five minutes, or go to my quakes site.

I don't think my job will ever have that problem, thank goodness. What would I do if I couldn't post non-stop all day?
