OK, what's the question to it? Only reason I ask is because apparently 6X9 is 42.

I love that number. It is not my favorite only because it is not prime.

I know what [shadow=red,left,300]42[/shadow] is. Yes, we all know it's the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe and Everything, but everyone's asked... What's the question? I was watching HHGTTG (the real one, the tv show based on the book based on the radio program), and as the two philosophers are talking, one mentions God's phone number. I had an epiphaney and went EUREKA! That's it! It's God's phone number! QED. BTW, the number is 9, of course. Number 9... Number 9... Number 9.... (Gads everyone on this board is too young to know what that's from.) It's 9 because I was born on 9/9 and counting my parents as 1 and 2, I'm the 9th member of my family. Count them as 8 and 9, and I'm 7 of 9 Oh yeah, I was also born in the 9th state of the union (New Hampshire). Note to MelMac - I know the TV show is actually based on the radio program, which predates the books... don't get picky.

That's OK, because the movie still is the last of the lot: Radio (covering "HHGTTG," "The Restaurant at the End of the Universe," and "Life, the Universe and Everything," - books - TV series - Radio again ("So Long and Thanks for all the Fish," and "Mostly Harmless" (which bookwise leaves you guessing - he left it both ways given that supposedly he killed off everyone but Random ) - Movie (where Mos Def was poor as Ford, and Zooey Deschanel was excellent at Trillian IMHO.)

I do remember it from Sesame Street when Bert was watching TV and it was the only thing on that kept flashing on the screen, but i do remember it from somewhere else. just can't think where.

What this number gave me was that old song they did on "Sesame Street" where they counted the numbers up to 12. It had a pinball theme to it and at the end the ball entered a hold that had four panels around it, each with something flying or blinking. Two of them were ducks floating on a pond and an airplane flying.

Some reason, that banter above now makes me hear the song "All I Need" in my head.
I know... *clears throat, HD voice* take it to the smut board Mel.
That phrase is the equivalent of "sit on it (so and so)."

I thought *4365 was Ralph's home phone number, based on "30 Seconds over Little Tokyo"? What's *1212?
