If you LITERALLY remembered the caption in question, it would actually be BILL providing the Melmanecdote, since he's the one banged up, and Ralph is the one saying Seatbelts were for Losers, but I digress... True...STILL a great caption. If there was any caption to be highlighted as the funniest and win a Jammies award, I would vote for that one, MyTatuo. Jammies award... what's that (thinks) Oh yeah... maybe we should try and bring it back again... someday.

Probably not worth it...there are fewer active members now than there were then...and we couldn't get it off the ground THEN.

There are 19 people who have posted in the past month. I would say that's not bad...
And if you look at the member's list, about 225 of our members (75%) have posted 10 times or less... so I would consider them - for all intents and purposes, never really active at all.
So if you say members who have posted more than 10 times are active, then about 26% of our total active members have posted within the last month.
And if we can call having 100+ posts being a Super-active Members, then a whopping 54% of our super-active members have posted in the past month...
So I think to say the board was more active then is really not the case. It may have been more diversified by lots of people posting once or maybe twice... but that's not really the same.

OMG.
Not only am I a doink, but I'm an egghead / geek.
Maybe I should dump Bill and go for Alan.
He IS 18 now, isn't he? Huh? MyT?

We have changed members overall and some are active..some are not. Some members have deleted accounts and such too, which the members list does not show. (Damn those longer institutional memories, huh?)

I agree with you, HD. The forum now looks very different than it did a year ago. Or two years ago. Or more...
I'd say, in general, it's a much more attractive group now... wouldn't you?
But that's something else...
Still, I think that there are well over a dozen really active members here now. There used to be about a dozen really active members then (not counting people who have deleted accounts. Were there any super-active ones who left?)
So to say it's not as active is not the case.
It's just different.
And more attractive......you're welcome...

It is more active now in some ways...people are on more often, but I think people used to post more then than now...some formerly active members are less active now even though we have gained new ones. Attractive new members? Hmmmm. Mrs. GG is an attractive green lady....I didn't know you convinced her to join...but thanks.

I am not saying that it is not still active and that some days are not very active, I am saying that there are some things that are different now. I just wish we could mix our active NOW with our active THEN.

If we did, I'd never leave the house...
Isn't it [my real life social life] bad enough already?

It could be fun though. And back on track: Nicol, can we see Superman in the suit?

Yeah, whatever happened to Lauren? And missdavidson? And SILVERHAMMER?! And scenario? And MortimerWest? And Succatash? And THATGIRL?! And MaxSommers? And greenguy? And MrsMaxwell? And PAM PARRISH?!
...alright, perhaps I went too far...
The biggest mystery is: whatever happened to "Cartoons In The Suit"?! Tangent Express, indeed...

Maybe so... :-\ You know, I'd kinda like to see Mooch or Earl from "Mutts" in the suit. Mooch would be funnier because he's a silly cat who sings a song about his favorite little pink sock he likes chewing on.

I just uploaded this to my avatar (Thanks Melmac). The pic is from an old Japanese magazine (that used to publish a lot of good GAH articles) and they had this as a double pager - I always liked it.

If that is Katt, he doesn't look any better with that hair color.

Did think of a few other cartoons in the suit that'd be sort of funny - Dennis the Menace; Marmaduke, Odie, one of the characters from Baby Blues, and Beetle Bailey.

If that is Katt, he doesn't look any better with that hair color. Face wise it's very similar to Katt. The hair is interesting though, though Katt's had his hair dark a few times ("Rough Riders" (black), "House" (the color-changing type - though worse than my own that does that) and "Baby" (brownish) It's a neat drawing though too. Makes me wonder if it was from around the time that Katt was doing the Kirin beer commercials that are on YouTube. He did seem to model or do quite a bit of work in Asia too, based on some of the photos I've seen floating around the internet.

There is a saying in Japan.
The nail that sticks out will be hammered down.
I think that the color change is probably a way of making it a little more local for readers. Not that Japanese artists don't draw blonds... LOL!
Love the cartoon by the way.

Only thing that would get me is if they - instead of drawing Katt - had drawn Dennis Madalone given he did a lot of Katt's stunts. But, I think you're right and they just had Ralph with black hair instead of blonde.
