How many characters can we name who have appeared in more than one SJC series. Spin-offs do count, but I can think of two that aren't Spin-off related.
Who can tell me who I'm thinking about?

Beats me. I can think of actors, but characters? Booker was a spinoff off of 21 Jumpstreet correct? I'm sure there were some character cross overs there. But I can't think of anything else.

Well, let's get the easy ones out of the way: the Booker/Jump Street connection.
Dennis Booker, of course, was the cop from "21 Jump Street" who was spun off into his own detective series, "Booker".
Officer Doug Penhall from "21JS" appeared in 2 episodes of "Booker".
Officer Judy Hoffs, ditto.
Captain Adam Fuller, ditto plus one.
Joyce Booker (Booker's mom) appeared in one episode of each.
Raymond Crane was a bad guy of such evil proportions that it took the combined efforts of both Booker's new detective agency and his old partners at the Jump Street unit to take him down in a special two-night, November sweeps, cross-over event.
Now, guys and gals, I've given up the Jumpstreet/Booker ones to get the juices flowing, but what about the rest of you?
I think you're missing an obvious one, and I hesitate to give up any hints because so few TV characters hold this distinction: appearing in more than one series, when one isn't a spin-off of the other(s).

Guys, guys, guys... E.L. "Tenspeed" Turner (as played by Ben Vereen) was the co-star of both "Tenspeed and Brown Shoe" (1980) and "J.J. Starbuck" (1988). An interesting take on how that came to be can be found here: www.poobala.com/tenspeedandstarbuck.htmlI can think of one other example of a character who appeared in more than one SJC show; a bad guy. Same actor played the role each time. Same character name. Same base of operations. Same "business", if you will. And, of course, the same propensity for getting soundly defeated by Cannell-created crime fighters. (when will they ever learn that crime doesn't pay?) Who am I talking about?

Tommy Tedesco, east coast mobster played by Richard Romanus, went up against Tenspeed and Brown Shoe in 1980; and up against The A-Team in 1986.
To the best of my knowledge, that's it; all the characters who've appeared in more than one SJC series. In the case of 21JS/Booker, it's no big deal, the latter being a spin-off of the former. The other two are unusual and interesting. Intersting to note that, except for the spin-off situation previously mentioned, the only characters to appear on more than one SJC show originated in his very first independent series. One good guy, one bad guy. Tedesco was one of the bad guys in the T&S pilot episode.
btw, the J.J. Starbuck episode that introduced Tenspeed Turner as his new partner about two thirds into the season, was written by Cannell. The A-Team episode with Tommy Tedesco was not written by Cannell, but by Bill Nuss (who wasn't even with Cannell in the Tenspeed days).

William Lucking played in TGAH and The A-Team. Does that count?

William Lucking played in TGAH and The A-Team. Does that count? No because he played different characters in both. The only thing that would pseudo work is that in both shows he was an agent of the government.
