I think this show might have been neat, but it did not last either for some reason. It has aspects of what sounds like a reality show I guess, but it could have been neat overall. I think I would have glanced at it a few times...and probably bought it on DVD. The Quest

I am sure the JMan has seen it. Do you think we stand the chance of getting it on DVD?

Has anyone seen this show...and/or have copies of it? I think it would work well as noted Here, but I would like to see the episodes made...or at least aired. I don't know if there will ever be a DVD release. I would like to write some scripts for it because it sounded neat, but I was hoping for the background.

Plus in all the tape trading lists I've seen from guys who have hundreds of series from the 80's, it's never listed. Maybe someday.......

Too bad it didn't have the following of the A-TEAM...or even PROFIT...since that came out on DVD. What do you think the odds are of me writing a letter convincing SJC to release a multi-pack of shows that were not on long, including this one?

Cannell Productions might be hard to convince, but it's the only way I see some series such as The Quest, The Rousters, or Top of The Hill getting a release.

Probably true. I will have to set some time aside then soon and do that. I think that many people would love to relive some of those old shows, super popular or not.

Unfortunately, I don't think we'll see any of those unless there's a 'proven market' out there clamoring for them - God forbid releasing something if 'maximum profit' is not 110% guaranteed. Cannell has proven that time and time again (I'm trying real hard not to start yet another rant regarding music copyrights...)

Well, was PROFIT really THAT popular? I had never heard of it and I am an AVID TV watcher and enjoy most SJC series. It came out and had some decent extras on it...maybe the same could happen here? I am drafting a letter to SJC about the need for these shows, especially in a multipack set like I mention in my other thread. What do you think about that? Want me to PM you the letter so you can send it in too?

Well, Profit is SUCH a great show, so well written & acted (and SO critically acclaimed) that yes, there was an outcry for that show by a significant group of people ever since it was pulled off the air, and (to me) rightly so. You won't find a similar cult following for Top Of The Hill - lol - justified or not.
By the way, I also had NO idea Profit even existed until I started hearing about it (after it's DVD release) from other fans who kept touting it...

I am still working on the letter about this show, but have not finished yet. I am also mentioning the multipack idea. After all, fan touting worked for PROFIT...I tell everyone about it now. I have so many irons in the fire.

I still like the multi-pack idea. The shows you mentioned never had the following that Profit did/does. Seeing a single release for each one is highly unlikely.
