I have recently bought the trilogy on DVD and forgot how great these movies are...individually AND as a whole. However, if I had to choose just ONE to watch the rest of my life...I would have to say the first one. It can stand alone if necessary and it has the most unique character and sequences...and while I like that the sequels used some of those scenes and remade them into futuristic or past representations, the original speaks for itself...what I deem an instant classic. So, what do you think?

I liked them all but loved the third the best!

I of course love the entire trilogy, but I gotta choose the original as the best. In fact, although I loved the comedy and effects of Part II, my favorites in order are I, III, then II. Also, you forgot the Cartoon Series and The Ride, but I guess they would count as "Other" I've been on The Ride over 300 times, but I still think I've seen the original (or at least parts of it) more...

I like the third because it really did send them far in time one way or the other. It went back 100 years and was full of humor (yes, some involved manure, but so what?) The funniest is when they show this one on air and Marty tells everyone in the bar when Tannen calls him everyname in the book what he is, it's sensored to "Idiot," but you clearly can read his lips. I love how Seamus does the double take with the correct, but the dubbed really is funny. I'd like the second one more if they stayed in the future. I didn't like the trip back to the past except for Marty's interpretation of CPR (punching Biff's lights out again after his dad did to save Loraine). I'm surprised they didn't do something slightly odd to show how that could've affected the future. And, the first one is a classic in and of it's own. One scene in particular seemed to strike a chord because MyTatuo used it in the first game thread as the best spoof of them all (complete with I still had to wait my turn because it didn't count as a move. )

Well, the poll asks which of the three you like best...meaning the actual trilogy and the cartoon series and the ride didn't count, but yes, they would go under other. And Mel, the II one was great because they did EVERYTHING in that one...past, present, AND future. It was probably the worst of the three, but it was still great.

Yes... but I didn't say which one of I and II is my second favorite (nor am I tellin' ya. ) I just like the third one as it's the only one I also got to see on the big screen. Mom and Dad didn't like the second one, mostly because it did go into the past instead of staying a little more in the future, so the kids didn't get to see it. We also didn't get to see the first one, I think because we were always busy. (In case you're wondering, the first movie I ever went to (don't remember it as I was just under a year old) was "StarTrek: The Motion Picture," first one I remember, "Return To Oz." any relavance, I'd remember watching the first BTTF one if we watched it in theaters. )

The first and original, of course.

The LCD electronic game! That was pretty cool too. I just remembered I got this game some time ago. Sure it was the TV cartoon series based, but it was a fun little game (and sorry... I don't know where it is now except possibly at my parent's house in some corner trying to stay away from my parent's crazy cat. )

One question, MyT. Why do you have an avatar of Holly doing the Macarena.
Is this the "Just for MyT" thread? I couldn't find any others, so I'm posting here...

One question, MyT. Why do you have an avatar of Holly doing the Macarena Actually it's funny you mention Holly doing the Macarena. My RealHolly™ and I do a modified version of that at home, where I put her hands on my shoulders, and then turn my hands over, then put her hands behind her ears, and then I move down to her stomach, and put my hands on her hips, and then... Wait a minute. I'm on the wrong board again. And there I go again! Dangit, I keep forgetting to keep that frickin doll a secret! Just ignore me...

Does the company that makes the RealHollytm doll also make the RealRalphtm, RealBilltm or RealPamtm dolls?
And my other question is... does your RealHollytm doll look like this?

Bite your tongue! "RealPam™"? She's too good to have a doll made of her (Mego-who?) Don't know about the guys; I wouldn't be their target customer. And, no, the RealHolly™ doll looks like Holly, not some airhea... oh, I see where the confusion comes from! Actually, the doll I have is solid, unlike the lady she's modeled after... (I didn't mean you, Mary Ellen! Come back!)

May I point out the obvious?
Having a doll made in her likeness has NOTHING to do with her. It's more about the poor sods who couldn't ever hope to get her in real life....
Now, where the heck is that airpump for that RealBilltm doll?

True...but it would be better to pretend with something that at least reminds you of them don't you think?

I love 'em all (especially the first, of course), but I still can't get over how completely blown away I was by Part II. SO many things they managed to juggle all at once and still have it ALL make sense. I still haven't seen another film like it. So II gets my vote if I HAD to choose.

Like I've said before, if there were decent, look-alike dolls action figures of Bill, Ralph, Pam, Holly, Cyler, Paco, Rhonda, Tony, Joey, Alan, Carlisle, the slime monster, the Beast in the Black, et al, we'd have simply way too much fun making fan films. Heh. (At least I know I would!)
((Oh, look, maxwell - fbi's actually responding to the thread's question... show off.))

ALso, one thing I like about the three is you could get away watching just one. Sure, some parts are confusing, but the general concepts they showed in each (such as changing the future with choices to change things in the past) helped straighten things out if necessary. There were a few predictables there that were used in all three, but not as bad as they could've been.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MYTATUO!Marty: This is heavy, Doc! Doc: Great Scott!! Another year gone! Where have we been? What have we missed? To the Delorean! Marty (off-pic): Where are we goin', Doc? Doc (off-pic): We're going back....to the future! Doc (off-pic): There has to be something so traumatic that we have allowed ourselves to forget that today was the big day for MyTatuo. Marty (off-pic): Wow, Doc! Where did you send us? Doc (off-pic): Marty, you're just not thinking fourth dimensionally. Marty (off-pic): Yeah, I have a real problem with that. Doc (off-pic): In the original universe, that was not the way the scenario played out. It was MyTatuo's wife in the picture. Somehow, the space-time continuum must have been disrupted and we inadvertently messed up the past. Marty (off-pic): How do we fix it? Doc (off-pic): We must go back and say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to MyTatuo earlier and fix the disruption. Marty (off-pic): Will that work? Doc (off-pic): It has too.... ****Hours earlier****** Doc and Marty (off-pic): Happy Birthday, MyTatuo!!!! ********Moments later******** Marty (off-pic): Did it work? Doc (off-pic): Yes! See! Look at the picture! It is being changed to show the TRUE reality. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MYTATUO!Marty (off-pic): Talk about deja vu.
