The Beast in the Black - Movie?

This is just something that occurred to me - and it may be just a wild coincidence but then again, it may not.

So anyway, here it is - on December 9, 1981, "The Beast in the Black" featured our hero played by William Katt entering and battling the demonic horrors of a haunted house.

Almost five years later, William Katt would once again face the horrors of a haunted house in the classic "House."

So anyway, what do you all think? Is it all just coincidence, or was "House" maybe inspired by "The Beast in the Black" in some way?

I can't say for sure having never seen the latter, but I'm sure there were probably some very similar elements.

Ah yes, "House". I saw that movie several times when I was 14, back in the late 80's, along with its (inferior) sequel, "House II".

I had never thought of the similarities with "Beast in the Black" before you mentioned it!
