Everyone have any plans for Halloween? It's not only on a Saturday, but also the full moon will happen that day. This is fantastic! A shame COVID has sort of buried most of the major traditions. My kids will likely do some neighborhood trick-or-treating since that is pretty easy to socially distance and be masked, but larger events are done. We usually go to my parents' on weekend Halloweens and run amok in the neighborhoods there. Sadly, not this year. Oh well. The kids still love the day and are excited about their costumes. What's everyone else doing? Dressing up? As what?

My kids are going as Robin Hood, a dinosaur, and one/all of the ghostbusters.

We usually hand candy out, but unless my husband changes his mind, we aren't even doing that this year.

I mean, he could change his mind and surprise me with candy to give out. It wouldn't be the first time. Trust me, I wish I had something to do today. I love dressing up. But up until yesterday we thought he'd have to work all day today. So IDK🤷

I understand that. But it just didn't happen this year. I just didn't have the energy to do it by myself. And there are never that many trick or treaters in my neighborhood anyhow. Honestly, we've been here for six years now, and we usually have a ton of candy left over. But I do want to plan something for next year. I have strobe lights 😁😁😁 I'll have to see if I can get a fog machine or some dry ice.

I'm sorry it didn't go well. The kids and I dressed up, although my costume was last minute since I didn't realize my other one was missing items. We went door to door in our little town and the neighboring one. The kids got a ton of candy. The oldest and I stayed up to introduce him to HOCUS POCUS, the best Halloween movie. We decorated the house for fall with spots of Halloween. Next year, I'm hoping to do more. I saw some great ideas when out and about. Plus, I need to plan for the years when the boys are too cool to go with mom and dad, which I'm hoping is a few years away. I will want to see the pictures of what you do next year though, Miss D.

Hocus Pocus is, indeed, the best Halloween movie. (John would probably argue The Nightmare Before Christmas is, but I stand by my opinion).
And if course I'll have pictures for you 😁
