tv.msn.com/tv/Best80sShows-1Of course, some of the shows that made the best TV shows of the 80's make sense...such as the A-Team. But why they DON'T have GAH on this list is beyond me. Anyone know why?

Because people just don't know how good the show is compared to others. I have to admit though, a Top 10 '80s shows is hard to do. You've got a lot of "ground-breaking TV" there. Hard decision overall.

Some of them were just stupid though. I liked ALF to some degree, but not to put in the top 10. Nor MARRIED WITH CHILDREN since it is MORE a 90s show than an 80s show.

Looking at the list again, I can see it was more of a list of those that spanned two decades. You do ones that were dominately in the '80s, I'd do a Top 10 list as such (these are both faves and observations): 1. Greatest American Hero. 2. Barney Miller 3. Thundercats 4. Dallas 5. Knots Landing 6. Dynasty 7. Trapper John M.D. 8. V (both the first and V: The final battle) 9. Remington Steele 10. The Love Boat True, a couple of these started in the late '70s (as in to close to when I was born), but a majority of the series ran in the '80s. Runners-up: Transformers, He-Man and She-Ra, Hart to Hart... well, there are a few others, but I can't think of them right off the top of my head.

Good thing YOU weren't making the list then. I don't care if they dipped a little into another decade, but MARRIED WITH CHILDREN is NOT a good example. Definitely GAH should be there...as should the A-TEAM. I am sure a lot of people would concur with 21 JUMPSTREET and MACGYVER...even though it did a little in the 1990s. There are four of mine...I am sure I have others. DOOGIE HOWSER was good to some degree too for such a short series. Geez MelMac...where did you get some of yours: THe worst TV that ever was?

NO.... just being observant to the popularity of these shows back then (I am older and do remember how popular these were back then). Also... how many of these have you actually watched? Have to admit, not all of these are my favorites. I was doing a general consensus top 10 based on what a person my age (as in old enough to remember the entire '80s) would choose. I'd put in MacGyver in there as well (I don't like Married with Children.) 21 Jump Street I never watched, so I can't make an analysis there. Honestly, some of these choices that are the offical ones I'm like you Must've been compiled by someone who's in their late teens.

I do agree with MIAMI VICE and the COSBY SHOW from the original list for sure. Even DYNASTY and DALLAS were revolutionary to some degree. But BARNEY MILLER....are you kidding me? The only one I haven't seen on your list is V...and just because Rhonda is in it does not mean it is good.

Barney Miller is listed in my list because according to some stories I've read, some officers said it's a pretty accurate description of a regular day at the office. I like it because it's funny, but to be honest it's been a while since I've watched it because of the sheer spookiness of it airing the same night on TV Land 9/11 occurred (the towers are in the background of the opening.) V is actually pretty good, though some of the filming might remind you about Battlestar Galactica. The lizards (I think that's the name they gave them, but they are lizards in human guise) also eat mice and hamsters for protein... which leads up to why they want Earth... for all it's resources. It's worth watching at least once, at least IMO. My parents used to watch Dallas and Dynasty, but they pretty much focused on Knotts Landing out of the three. Falcon Crest to this day scares me because I remember that Falcon at the end of the opening titles turning its head to stare straight at you. Still creeps me out a bit to this day.
