Wouldn't that be nice. I just need to get these files off of his harddrive before I toss the darn thing over the Golden Gate Bridge!

Maybe not in the title...but there are night scenes in the episode...you should speak more clearly.

Hmm, you're right, but I only recall a brief scene of the Russian woman crying in a hotel room. Guess I should have said episode title, like you should have gotten the title right. I may have to rescind your Wizard rank for that... invisible user's still here, BTW

I know the invisible user is still here and I know you can see them and won't tell me who they are too. As for the night scene...it is night when Ralph takes the file from Carlisle.

And how could you take my rank away when you are making errors too?

I think that means that she is agreeing with me...either that or she is aware that there is an invisible user running around too.

I asked this a long time ago, and my friend ended up gettting a tech or something, but I have a new question, since there are several experts on board. I am trying to copy all of the files off of my father's harddrive, and burn them onto a cd, in the computer's own cd burner. It is a Sony Desktop Vaio, running Windows XP. This is a very simple thing to do on my Mac, but not on this Vaio. I have followed all of the instructions, which is probably my first mistake. I've chosen the files, chosen 'copy these files', and chosen the destination. Nothing happens. Any suggestions? Thanks! Is there a drag and drop option? I would also, if you haven't already go straight to the burn cd then look for the destination and select from there. My recommendation is DL a different program. I like Roxio a lot because you can burn data music or both or VCD. It's kind of hard without actually seeing the pgm but I'm sure there is a way to do it. I hope it hepls. I'm usually good at figuring things out. Also was there any message saying that it can't do it for whatever reason? It might be the cd burner. Now I'm not trying to insult your intelligence or anything, I'm just takig this from Big Square one but the cd it is a burner right? Have you been able to burn before?Good luck.

Hi Ms. Boku. I appreciate the answer. no, it's no insult to start at square one.
Yes, I have been able to burn a cd in the same cd burner before. No, there was no error message. I chose the files. Clicked on copy. Chose the destination. Nothing happened. It used to work and now it did not. I guess I could add Roxio, but will that work with the internal burner, or is that just for an external burner?
Thanks!

Oh internal. I have it on my laptop. If you do lijke your burning pgm another suggestion would be to double check the dc your putting in is a cd-r. sometimes it's the quality of the cd too. but you could check for pgm updates online. Let me know how it turns out.

lol, I'm late (sure you've figured this out), but here it goes. If you can get your hands on something like Nero, go with that, because the built-in burning in software, which is oddly enough from Roxio (Toast works great on my Mac), is shoddy as heck. If you have to use it though, you have to copy the files and then paste them into your "burning folder" (which is basically the drive itself under "My Computer"; usually drive D:). You'll noticed that the files will show up there, but seem greyed out/translucent. Once you have everything there (it shoud say that these files are ready to be burned to disk), you can either click on "Write these files to CD" on the left hand side, or right-click in the background and then left-click on that same command. At that point, the burning dialogue window comes up, and the rest is simple enough (not a Mac...that's for sure)... As for the virus thing, for a lot of the worst ones, you basically have to go into safe mode (F8 during boot-up, just prior to the Windows splash screen) to get them, and even then, it's not a sure thing. I would tell you to tell her to get another antivirus program, as Norton is heavy on system resources, but uninstalling Norton can corrupt certain parts of the Windows registry (many jokingly say that a Norton uninstall is a Windows reinstall; uninstall fails about half the time). Aside from having Spybot, Ad Aware and Windows Defender installed (yes, all three), another great tool is the Trend Micro House Call, which will scan and clean your PC for all virii and spyware/adware (and does a might better job than some of resident virus programs). TrendMicro House Call housecall.trendmicro.comAlso, if you don't have antivirus software or your license has run out (meaning you haven't updated those definitions in ages), there are a couple of decent free alternatives. AntiVir (what I currently use) www.freeav.comAvast Antivirus (rated higher than McAfee in Consumer Reports) www.avast.comOne more helpful bit for added security would be to use an alternative browser, such as Opera or Firefox, both of which have particular strengths (Firefox is very customizable, Opera is very fast, both are preferable to IE, and I actually use the Mac versions a bit more than Camino or Safari). Firefox www.getfirefox.comOpera www.opera.comOf course, if you're fortunate enough to use a Mac, you won't need this. No one's perfect though

What you can do is to to www.photobucket.com and signup there. The basic one's free, which is what I've got, and you can upload your pics there. Then, all you do is use the URL from there with on both sides and it'll show up here. If you want to look at mine as an example, it's mascotajester on the site.
