Just got an email from Fox that stated Family Guy has been "RE-CANCELLED". When you open the email up, it says "JUST KIDDING! APRIL FOOLS!" Cute.

For the most part I've always liked FOX. But I don't like the way they handled one of their first hit series, Werewolf. Nor do I like the fact they gave the greenlight for a second season of Tru Calling, then pulled the plug after 6 episodes. Then they pulled a ABC/TGAH moment, and have never aired them. How amusing...I just checked my onscreen guide and found out Tru Calling airs tonight. So now I rate them one above ABC.

Sure the formula was done before on The Fugitive and The Incredible Hulk, but the werewolf angle really added a new depth to the series. It was written pretty well too...by Frank Lupo? It was so dissapointing that the series got canned after only 1 season. -scenario-

Whe Frank Lupo left Cannell, all he did was rehash old Cannell ideas. "Werewolf" was "The A-Team", with a werewolf. Always on the run, helping people along the way...
Heck, didn't they even have Lance LeGault play Col. Decker in both shows?

Did Frank Lupo really have something to do with Werewolf? I don't remember that. Well, anyway... one thing I'm pretty sure I DO remember is hearing that one of the characters (head werewolf? not sure...) was named Janos Skorzeny - meant as a tip of the hat to the Kolchak: The Night Stalker show. I thought THAT was pretty damn cool.

P.S. Just looked it up... sure enough... creator and executive producer... Frank Lupo. Cool. Weird though - had to find that at TV Tome. No mention of him at all at IMDB. ?

"Werewolf" was "The A-Team", with a werewolf. Always on the run, helping people along the way... Ahh, yes, but wasn't that premise done much earlier and much better with this furry guy? Or maybe I'm thinking of "The Incredible Hulk"? Another guy on the run helping people, morphing into a hideous monster? Maybe, just maybe, there are no more original ideas...

Maybe, just maybe, there are no more original ideas... thats what we ask ourselves everyday in the indy comic scene.

Well, Sci-fi channel is pretty bad for cancelling show's that help make there networks worth watching as well. My fav show on there netwaork was called Farscape and they pulled it after 4 years. Dumbest move since abc pulled GAH the way they did. But what can you do right?
