Yeah, I know it was used in "Patch Adams" first, and It's the WORST of the Star Trek series, BUT....
It's been a long road, To get from there to here. It's been a long time, but my time is finally here.
And I can feel a change in the wind right now. Nothing's in my way. And they're not gonna hold me down no more. No they're not gonna hold me down.
'Cause I've got faith of the heart. I'm going where my heart will take me. I've got faith to believe. I can do anything. I've got strength of the soul. And no one's going to bend or break me. I can reach any star. I've got faith, I've got faith, Faith of the heart.
It's been a long night, Trying to find my way. Been thru the darkness, Now I finally have my day.
And I will see my dream come alive at last. I will touch the sky. And they're not gonna hold me down no more. No they're not gonna change my mind.
'Cause I've got faith of the heart. I'm going where my heart will take me. I've got faith to believe. I can do anything. I've got strength of the soul. And no one's going to bend or break me. I can reach any star. I've got faith, Faith of the heart.
I know the wind's so cold, I've seen the darkest days. But now the winds I feel, Are only winds of change. I've been thru the fire, And I've been thru the rain, But I'll be fine.
'Cause I've got faith of the heart. I'm going where my heart will take me. I've got faith to believe. I can do anything. I've got strength of the soul. And no one's going to bend or break me. I can reach any star. 'Cause I've got faith, 'Cause I've got faith, Faith of the heart...
Faith of the heart. I'm going where my heart will take me. I've got faith to believe. And no one's going to bend or break me. I can reach any star. 'Cause I've got faith, 'Cause I've got faith, Faith of the heart...
It's been a Long Road...

Enterprise actually got good the last 2 seasons, the first 2 weren't that good. Then again, I hated the first 2 years of Next Gen. Voyager was the only series I couldnt get into.

I thought that song was written for "Enterprise." I personally don't consider that show as part of the Trek universe It was a travesty and it ain't canon. Period. Rick Berman is Satan. But I won't go on about it, seeing as this is a GAH board and all

What a crock! The second best theme song starts off: In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire...the A-Team.

Speaking of "Star Trek" themes, "Enterprise" isn't the only one to have lyrics. The original theme has lyrics to it, but they usually aren't heard. When I was watching the Emmys Sunday, I saw the entry that William Shatner did with the mezzosoprano. It was a bit funny, since Shatner was off beat and she started early. They did good overall though. I think they would have gotten a few more kudos if they actually sang the lyrics to it. But, then again, it could have gone the way of the "Bonanza" theme (which also has lyrics) and been a bit jokey. As far as the show, I didn't have UPN when it aired, so I didn't get to watch it often. When I did, I thought it was pretty good since it was a different take on the series. What hurt it was that people were expecting what they had been seeing for the past 35+ years and being inundated with the series. I think that may be why "Doctor Who" had such a rough go its last few seasons in its original run.

Ah, no. That's not even in the top 100 theme songs of all time....Hell, "Charles In Charge" had more teeth to it!

While the A-Team may not be an overwhelming second, it is easily in the top five...at least they still play the A-Team theme song on the radio.

I think one of the greatest instrumentals for a TV show is the theme to "Doctor Who." There has been several different twists to it over the years, usually varying by decade, but they keep the original rythym. In just about each version, it still gives me the shivers.

Ya know, I had the 12" LP "Doctorin' the Tardis" by the Timelords? They actually played that in clubs in the late 80's....
I challenge you to name ANY radio station that plays TV theme songs, let alone the A-team.

105.5 out of Des Moines played it when it was an oldies station...just a couple of months back. They also played others like the GREATEST AMERICAN HERO as song by our man, Joey.

Hard to get outside of town in the pasture. Of course, being in South Jersey, you know all about that.

I scanned the thread to make sure I'm not repeating myself, but.... Beyond the rim of starlight, My love is wandrin' in starflight I know he'll find in such star-colored reaches Love, Strange love a starwoman teaches. His journey ends never, His star trek will go on forever But tell him while he wanders his starry sea, Remember, remember me Pretty awful, I know; one reason it's fortunate we don't usually hear the lyrics. (I did the above from memory, BTW, from when I learned the lyrics as a 10 year old girl, from the book "The Making of Star Trek.")

For TV themes, "Believe It or Not" doesn't even make the Top Ten for me. Only redeeming quality it has is while it's playing, it shows Robert Culp as Bill Maxwell.
But, on the other hand, the TV themes I like are from shows *I* grew up with, as a lot of you grew up with GAH. So, as little kids learning these themes, we get fond of the ones we know.
Naw, "F Troop," Addams Family, Hogan, Beverly Hillbillies, that lot.... those are my favorites.
Oh yeah, but we all know Number One is "WKRP in Cincinnati."

(sigh) I have two recent WKRP entries on my livejournal; one where we met our staff and management, and the other with snippets from the infamous Turkey episode. Dr. Johnny Fever rules almost as much as Bill does. Too bad the guy who played him is such an a..hole, unlike my man Robert Culp.

Sad thing is, this is one of the three songs I know the lyrics to where they only played the instrumental. The other two are "Bonanza" and "I Love Lucy." Both were sung at least once on an episode of the show, but the one that matched best was the "I Love Lucy" theme. I understand why they didn't play the "Bonanza" one though since it sounds a bit silly as well. My top 10 favorites vary often, but I can say that "Believe It or Not" is at the top of the list. Right now, among the others are the themes from Doctor Who, (actually tied for first), Emergency, The Wild, Wild West (TV series), Buck Rogers, ST:DS9, and the A-Team.
