Speaking of music, I realized that's one reason I love "Lilacs, Mr. Maxwell": no songs. Whew. I wonder if that was Culp's doing.

Same with VANITY if I remember correctly. Of course, he has SO much detail and plot to his that it would be hard to have music that fit the scenes OR that did not cover dialogue. I like DOOGIE because Mike Post...our man from GAH did the theme music and probably others throughout the show. Speaking of which...Steve Bochco rocks and Steve Cannell sucks...DOOGIE has all its original music and it is put out by ANCHOR BAY. DOOGIE has things like "Funky Comadina", Pat Benatar, and ZZ Top. Cannell just helped make his DVD sets a little more useless to those of us who like the originals.

Attagirl, MelMac....gotta have the A-Team. Yeah, A-Team is in the Top 10 for me. I like the A-Team theme because the music fits well with the show. I always get a kick out of seeing the Cylon walk by Face in the opening, and include the "Vworping" sound in the music. They used that version in a "Greatest TV themes" volume. "Doogie Howser, M.D." also is a fave of mine (though more in the top 20) because of the medical sounding rythym in it.

i didn't really know where to post this, but i guess here is good. Iv'e been looking for the GAH Joey Scarbury cd and i haven't been able to find it yet?, where did some of you get your copy. I tried BestBuy, but they didn't know what i was talking about, of course that was immediately after it came out so maybe now they'd know. i don't really want to have to order it over the net. Also, does anybody know if Joey sings the other songs throughout the show? cause it never says, but it sounds just like him, so i think it is him, and are thoes songs on his album? man i hope so. Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on this.

Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on this. I've only been able to find Scarbury's CD, "America's Greatest Hero," online. I asked Best Buy shortly after it came out, and they said no one had it in stock in the stores. If you're worried about credit card privacy online, you might ask Best Buy if there is a way to order it and have it picked up and paid at the store. As far as their online services, I've had no problems with using it or with Amazon for purchases. My copy of "Believe It or Not" is on the "'80s flashback" CD, which is at Target stores. I also have the TV version of the theme (the one on Scarbury's CD and "'80s flashback" is longer) on "TV's Greatest Themes" on tape. This is also available on CD, but you have to order it online. As far as songs in the show, Scarbury sang them. On the DVDs, the cover songs were replaced with different songs. Those songs are sung by a different person (I don't know who). I think the only story that ran that Scarbury didn't sing all the songs was "GAHeroine," which featured (I think) Whitney Houston singing "Greatest Love of All." (Scarbury sang "Sometimes" on it). On Scarbury's CD, the GAH theme and "Sum of My Friends" were used in the show. Hope this helps.

ok, thanks MelMac, but i'm a bit confused. On the DVD's it isn't Joey singing the songs within the show? is that what your telling me because it sounds just like him. Like on "Hero's are Human" it sounds just like him, it sounds like it's him on almost all songs except for maybe a couple i can think of. Man, it'd be great to have thoes songs, would it not. And thanks on the album info

And thanks on the album info Not a problem, glad to be of help. Sorry I confused you about the songs on the DVD. Scarbury sings most of the songs on the DVD, such as "Heroes are Human." As far as I know, all the songs written specifically for the show are still on the DVD. Some songs were replaced on DVD because they were cover songs that were originally done by other artists. For example, in the Pilot, the song "Help Me Rhonda" was replaced with a '90s style song. Also "Rocket Man" was replaced with a ballad-style song that I guess the title is "This is Not Your Town." Both "Help Me Rhonda" and "Rocket Man" were both performed by The Beach Boys and Elton John originally. There has been some discussion as to why the cover songs were replaced, and it probably was because it costs a lot of money to secure the rights to run them. I guess what I'm saying is that yes, Scarbury sang all the songs in the original run, but some songs he originally sang in the show were replaced on DVD because they were cover songs. Those are the ones that the singer sounds different.
