Whoohoo, we've already clinched the regional... and we won't have to fight to keep our spot in a wildcard game! WE RULE THE WORLD, HA HA!!!!!!!!!! Just had to rub that in to all the Philly fans, after all the baseball off-topic stuff I had to wade through WHEN we win this one, we'll be 10-2. My son informs me Indianapolis is the only team doing better than we are, and we face them on Christmas Eve.

My son informs me Indianapolis is the only team doing better than we are, and we face them on Christmas Eve. Haven't been following the season myself. Not because the Texans have had a very bad season (I have seen worse, however, with the Oilers (now Titans) ), but because I just haven't had time to follow it. Right now, between the Texans and Rockets, the Astros are sitting pretty as the kings of Houston sports (as they should right now). Now, come playoffs, I'll be choosing a team and rooting for them. Might even use Craig Ferguson's technique of picking the winner based on logos. Funny thing was, he was right save the final one last season (predicted the Eagles would win the bowl, but it was the Patriots). And, he was pretty accurate in I think basketball. Didn't see one for baseball (probably good, since it would be harder to choose a winner based on most of the MLB's logos. )

Football again? Aren't we done with this?

Football again? Aren't we done with this? High school football is winding down (at least here), but regular pros season no. Besides, we had the discussion of baseball season right down to the end of the World Series, so fair's fair in one for football. Right now, I'd like to see any team win the Super Bowl. I don't have a favorite other than the Texans, but they will not advance (obviously and unfortunately ).

You know, it'd be funny to see what Ferguson would say if he had to compare the eagle's/seahawk's logo. Probably say it'd be the "angry bird" vs. the "angry two-colored bird" (seahawks' I think is blue/green. Apologies if I've got it wrong, billswoman.) I don't know who he'd pick, and he'd probably say he'd rather have to choose between them and Elvis (the Patriots) again. (Can't predict who'd win either based on the logos myself either, really. And would have hated to try an Astros/White Sox one. That'd been an interesting and funny commentary, since it'd been a star and socks.)

I guess the Seahawks are entitled to a winning season every century or so!

My Jags will probably squeak in without Leftwich and Taylor and get a whoppin' in the first round

My Jags will probably squeak in without Leftwich and Taylor and get a whoppin' in the first round For me, I don't care so long as it's not the Tennessee Titans. After the stunt they pulled in Texas when they were the Oilers, I don't like the team in general. They're one of the reasons (and I think main one) that the Astrodome doesn't have the million dollar sign anymore. They wanted more seating in the Dome, and when Houston gives it to them, they pay them back by leaving their contract and moving to Tennessee. Though I didn't watch the team (this was the golden era of the Cowboys then), what they did was very rude in my opinion, not only to Houston, but even to Tennessee because, at least IMO, they cannot trust the Titans entirely to stay with them because they broke one contract. (Hm, maybe this is also why I don't follow pro-football. ) Anyway, when someone does know the teams who advanced, I might pick a playoff favorite then.

I hope the Jags get in somehow, tho the Colts are gonna roll over everyone I think...Baseball season is gonna suck now that the Marlins gutted the team to get back at Miami legislature for not helping them with a stadium (City of Miami gave it to a college team instead)...I expect the team to move (Hopefully Orlando because Miami doesnt deserve team)

Come to think of it, there is one team I do root for besides the Texans. It's the Raiders. We have a local player who is a member of the team. I don't know how they're doing this season, then again, I've been inundated with High School football. Still have one team left in the playoffs.

Well, Seattle's only had two national championships, both in basketball: Sonics in 1979, and recently (can't remember year) the Seattle Storm for the WNBA. We were ROBBED of the world series in 2001, the year we tied for the most games won in a regular season (116), with the early Cubs (1920-something). We beat the yankees every regular game that year, and yet they go on and kick our butts in the playoffs. I smell a controversy there. So yeah, it's our turn, dammit! Superbowl all da way, bay-beeeeeeeeee!!

I would say that the Bears deserve a win too.

I would say that the Bears deserve a win too. Is it just me, or have the Bears improved by leaps and bounds? Normally, they and the Browns aren't mentioned in the news. Only reason I know the Texans are is because of the really bad season they've had this year. Come to think of it, quite a few teams normally not mentioned are being mentioned and vice versa. Getting to be as interesting as the baseball playoffs were this year.

Yes, you are correct. The Bears have improved immensely. It's nice to see different teams doing well. That goes for the Bengals too.
