Well I decided to jump on the proboard bandwagon and create my own. It's Doctor Who. I'm still tweaking but here it is. msboku.proboards82.com/index.cgiI'm hoping to change the Msboku to whos' corner but I don't know if I can do it or if they do it. Well post away.

Good place to put MelMac....THANK YOU for finally having a place where she can post about Dr. Who and everything else that I don't understand. Hey, I represent that remark! I seem to do that a lot with any show I've watched that's more than two decades old. I do plan on joining the board, but haven't done so yet because I'm trying to think of a unique name that doesn't confuse me further typing it on the boards.

No one on the old shows that tended to be too literal, huh? You would be great as Hymie on the GET SMART board, you know.

But, I haven't been too literal to the point I've knocked out someone when they said, "You knock me out," or something like that. If I was like any of the Doctors, I'd be a cross between the third, fourth and fifth Doctors, so that's a fairly odd mix. (I know, don't have a clue what I'm talking about, but basically creative, eccentric and diplomatic. )

Great...three diffferent doctors...you sound like a weird ER replacement. You COULD be that literal, but luckily none of us are in person to get "driven up a wall" by you.

Nope, have enough fun staying on my feet on slippery stages. As far as the series, there have been 10 actors who have played the same role, but with a different take on it. So, it sounds more like a soap opera in terms of replacement. (No comment on literalism this time. ) Just signed up and now am waiting for my e-mail. I chose a unique one this time, but still one people could recognize if they pay attention.

Still a mix of juggling and such? Probably so. But if it is Dr. Who related, I would never guess it I imagine.

Since I know I will never have any reason to go to the Dr. Who board, why don't you tell me?

Well changing the actors was a clever way to kep the show going since 1963. It became really popular when they introduced the Daleks. SEEK! LOCATE! EXTERMINATE!

The Daleks were cool, but I also liked the Cybermen, well at least in their earlier stages when their faces were covered with fabric (10th planet.) Their voices in that ep too were very creepy. "Tomb of the Cybermen" also comes to mind for creepy Cybermen voices (using this one b/c it's completly on film). Apparently the device that made the Cyberman's voices in that one would make the user ill.

Shouldn't this be saved for the Dr. Who board? You don't want to use up all your ideas HERE do you?

I just thought I would be helpful...I know that there are several seasons of the show to talk about, but you don't want to waste ALL of your creative juices talking about it on this board I imagine.

(Should've been GAH too)

Should have been, but isn't. Maybe if they ever recreate it, it will be on forever, kind of like stupid shows like SMALLVILLE.

Doctor Who, while varied, succeeded because each Doctor was different and had endless possibilities. Same true for GAH, but that wasn't the shows fault. (Just an argument besides)

Well if they find some creative way to pass on the suit but they can't go out of character. But again trying to find a really great chemistry to keep the essence of the show (esp for us veterans) is hard and one thing I am sure they will try and do is appeal to the younger audiences and say to heck with us and THAT is just one of the main reasons why most remakes don't work. Because the writers and such, making them don't care about the people who made the show (us viewers). They only care bout their pockets and not integrity.
