Ah, geez, what've ya done, Jo? Haven't you been around long enough to figure Mel out by now? Don't you know that you're just giving her another thread where she can go on and on about this and that and the other thing? She'll thank you, sure, but then she'll start talking about what she's got palnned for this birthday, and what happened on birthdays past, and how this birthday greeting is similar to birthday greetings from long ago, and some of the birthday wishes that she hoped to receive but never did, and maybe what she would do if she could really get a special birthday wish that she has dreamed about when she was a little girl growing up in a fmaily with a father who couldn't even call her by a girl's name... well, you get the point. I swear, that woman can talk up a storm. She may be second runner up when it comes to overall posts, but that's only because she doesn't really know how to keep each post to a minimum. She would write ten pages worth if this system would let her get away with it. If you ever wanted to know how long a post can be, just ask Mel: she's probably seen the "post too long" error message once a day since she's been here. She's even added additional vocabulary to our lexicon, what with MelMantecdotes and the like. Why, she even oh forget it I can't write any more my fingers are cramping Happy Birthday, Mel!

Thankfully I have unlimited minutes...Actually, I have spoken with her on the phone! Shortest conversation I ever had! Using clues from this board, I figured out her real name and workplace on the Internet. We both were working graveyard, so I called her. Needless to say, she was not expecting my call. All I could get out of her was "Uh-huh, "Uh-huh," & "I'm calling the police now"

So, MyTatuo, will you call me at work?
I'll give you one hint. Corner of 42nd and 8th.
There's a public phone booth there. I'll wait on your call.
(Actually, Mac even knows what I do... holy quacamole! She should either become a CIA operative or a mobster. She's got stuff on all of us, I bet! And you fools made her a moderator? Uncontrolled power, I tell you..)

All I could get out of her was "Uh-huh, "Uh-huh," & "I'm calling the police now" Yes... I remember that day too, it was just bad timing and surprise. Still feel a little bad about it, as we had a grassfire and you called about 10:30-11:30 p.m. my time (central). Usually that was for production or family emergencies, so it did spook me a bit. (And, if you must know, MyTatuo, I did manage to find out the max you can write in a post: 26,500 characters, or about 5,000-6,000 words. Learned that posting Pam's dream story on said board.) OK, back slightly OT (but how can you do that in an off topic thread?) Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone. I'm having a great birthday. Going to an Astros game tonight, which is the first time since I ever lived there that they were home on my birthday and I could attend. Pretty cool Sure beats Sweet 16, when I got a sprained wrist from a fellow volleyball player. (And Jo... My lips are sealed on that. Makes a good "CIA agent" or just a quiet juggler. )

Not being able to make an informed decision, I went with my gut: "Who cares what you think, anyway?"

These are too funny guys, thanks for the great b-day wishes. ;D Birthday went well, though for me it seemed to start Friday when I got a new job. Sunday we had a Soc Hop at my other job and I won second place (a $50 gift card) in the Elvis impersonation contest. Then yesterday got to go to the Astros game and they won 10-3. Even got to see my very first grand slam home run in person (this includes games I went to at the Astrodome). It was too cool They gave away T-shirts, though I think they should've done Oswalt's number over Clemens' yesterday because it was O's b-day. So, have to say it was a great birthday. see, I can use the KISS pilosophy, HD.
