I'd heard not-too-long-ago that they were going to "re-do" the original Trek series, updating the SFX, the music, etc. I hadn't thought much about it till sis called earlier today and asked, Are you watching Star Trek tonight?
Star Trek? Which one?
I was excited to hear the REAL Trek, updated to the 21st century. I asked her which ep, and she said, The one with the lizard.
Okay, "Arena" is a goodie, written by Fred Brown, a real sci-fi author. Then she said, Hang on, I'm not sure... turns out it's BALANCE OF TERROR, one of my very favoritest episodes! That's the first one Mark Lenard appears in as a guest, but this time he's a Romulan. Bet Spock thinks, Gee, he looks like DAD!
Next week is another one of my top ten faves: Devil in the Dark.
So it's 14 minutes till T-time, lol! I'm going in with some trepidation about the "new" stuff, but hey, it's REAL Star Trek, the one that started it all, so I'll be happy I'm sure!
It's on UPN, in case y'all didn't know. By the time folks read this, it'll have been and gone. Logical it'd be on UPN, since Paramount owns Star Trek.

Actually it's only on UPN if a UPN station bought the series. It's syndicated to over 200 stations here in the U.S. on the weekends only. For example, here where I am it's on the local FOX station. I just talked to a friend from where I'm originally from and the station it airs on there is a independent station with no network affilation. The only reason I mention this is so people can check their local listings for all stations and not just a UPN station. If fact UPN will not exist much longer as the CW (the merging of the WB with UPN) is about ready to debut.

See how I am, stuck in my little corner of the US? I thought it was all over UPN, and that this CW thing was a local phenomenon. Go figure.
Thanks for that heads up, greenguy! Isn't communication a wonderful thing?
