I did a search on Culp to see if any particular thread discusses his writing and/or directing, and didn't really get a good idea of all the eps he worked on.
I know he wrote and directed "Lilacs, Mr. Maxwell" and I believe I saw mention of at least one more script, although the title eludes me.
Does anyone know, all told, which eps he wrote? Which ones he directed? And which ones he did both?
One post I saw said ABC hated Culp's scripts, so that "Lilacs..." even though filmed mid-season 2 didn't actually air till the last ep that year. How could they have not liked that one?
On a similar note, I saw two DVD sets that focus on Culp and "I Spy," I believe they're calling it the Robert Culp Collection. I don't know the show, having been a youngun when it was out, but I'm getting those sets right after Im done getting GAH on DVD (soon, I hope!)

I think Culp both wrote and directed Vanity, Says the Preacher, which I thought was a pretty powerful episode.

Do yourself a favor and pick up the Culp Collection ISPY DVDs. They are a two disc set with three episodes on each with audio commentary by Culp himself. They are priceless in terms of getting into the mindset of Culp as a writer, actor and human being. You can purchase them both through Amazon for about sixteen dollars.

GOD would I have paid extra for commentaries on Culp's 2 GAH episodes, ESPECIALLY "Vanity..."

I wonder if perhaps GAH had a creator/producer behind it like Alan Spencer instead of Cannell that there would have been extras such as commentaries. Both GAH and Sledgehammer were released by Anchor Bay and when you compare the extras between the two shows on DVD, well, there really is no comparison. Sledge is packed with all kinds of extras. Spencer went out of his way to pack both Sledghammer season sets with all kinds supplemental features.

Hmmm, don't know which thread it ended up under, but I'd already posted about the Robert Culp Collection before culpkatt's post here. But thanks for the input, it's appreciated! And yes, it'll be the next set of DVDs I get, after GAH.
