Well here is the question ... which season is best? Third, IMHO isn't even in the running, so the real question for me is between 1st and 2nd.
I thought 2nd season was very strong, but 1st edges it out because of the quality of the scripts overall. They had it all and are the definition of great "dramedy." 2nd season was quality comedy/science fiction, but except for a few episodes (like Culp's "Lilacs, Mr. Maxwell"), the "dramedy" was largely gone.
Any thoughts?

I think I answered this post close to when I first joined, but now I'm not too sure. "Divorce Venusian Style" may be the crowning jewel in S3, I dunno (I know "Space Ranger" isn't.) Maybe they got it overwith in just the first ep of S3 and it was all downhill from there?
I thought S2 was my favorite, having "Lilacs..." and "Beast in the Black" (one of my favorites now), as well as "Plague" and "Operation Spoilsport" but, well... Okay, I still hold S2 was the best, lol.
Season One has some great bits, of course; the three main characters growing together, Ralph getting on with the kids better and gaining their trust and respect, learning new powers. Seeing Bill through the eyes of a Bill-lover instead of a Bill-hater, he seems totally different. Sure,he can be a jerk, lol, no disagreeing there. But I'm finding a lot more endearing about him that I didn't see before (eg, at the end of "Here's Looking At You, Kid" when he says that to Ralph at the school. He merely went by to say 'thanks' and I think he wanted to get more acquainted with Ralph as a buddy, not just being thrown together cuz of the aliens.)
Wait, i had a point here.. yeah, Season Two.
(You know, it's funny... the same was true with Star Trek. Season One had some great character and canonical development, Season Three pretty much blew chunks except for three eps, and Season Two, well, it was the creme de la creme of Trek IMO.)

I agree that the overall quality averaged out looks better for season one, but part of that (I feel) is due to the fact there were only 7 episodes (6, minus the Pilot). I voted for season two because it was a full (22 episode) season and I still thought the quality was (overall) top notch. Close call...

I was thinking that too, a very short first season compared to the only real full season there was, Season Two. For such a short season, S1 got a good deal of character development in, their discoveries of the suit's abilities and getting to know one another better.

Yeah, Scott made a great point in saying it's such a shame that GAH didn't get the typical 'mid-season replacement order' of 13 episodes like most shows get when they start in the middle of a season - then at least we'd have 6 more overall!

Season 2 was the best, hands down!

Well let me defend my position. I agree that season 2 was great but when I look at my top 10 favorite episodes, 4 of them come from the seven first season episodes (The Pilot, The Hit Car, Best Desk Scenario, and Saturday on Sunset Boulevard). That is a terrific average. Also, when I look at the weakest episodes I find Reseda Rose and Here's Looking at You Kid far far far better than 2nd season weak episodes. Still, 2nd season was great, but it is a close call.

Only four votes? I guess things aren't as busy now that all the season sets are out.

I went with Season One; quality over quantity. Though, Seasons Two and Three were also good.

I think it is so hard to go for a great season. Some scenes were better in each and some episodes were better. Even the third season had some great scenes, even if the episode sucked overall. On that same vein, some scenes in the first season sucked, even if the episode didn't overall. We are being too broad.
